Resource allocation in communications networks using probability forecasts
A system (1000) is disclosed including a resource allocation optimization (RAO) platform (1002) for optimizing the allocation of resources in network (1004) for delivery of assets to user equipment devices (UEDs) (1012). The RAO platform (1002) determines probabilities that certain asset delivery opportunities (ADOs) will occur within a selected time window and uses these probabilities together with information concerning values of asset delivery to determine an optimal use of asset deliveries. In this regard, the RAO platform (1004) received historical data from repository (1014) that facilitates calculation of probabilities that ADOs will occur. Such information may be compiled based on asset delivery records for similar network environments in the recent past or over time.
CONVERGENCE SUBLAYER FOR USE IN A WIRELESS BROADCASTING SYSTEM
A method of encapsulating data and a single frequency network configured to perform the method are disclosed. A content stream of data packets is received, and the data packets in the content stream are formatted in accordance with a first protocol. Information identifying a container size established for the content stream is received. The data packets formatted in accordance with the first protocol are fragmented and packed to form data units formatted in accordance with a second protocol, and the data units are sized based on the container size. The data units formatted in accordance with the second protocol are encapsulated to form second protocol data packets. The second protocol data packets are provided to a transmitter that is synchronized to one or more transmitters in a single frequency network so that each transmitter in the single frequency network broadcasts a same signal that includes the second protocol data packets.
Transmission parameter control for segment delivery
A method of delivering a video sequence in a network, the sequence including a plurality of temporal segments encoded at a plurality of qualities, the method including storing a dataset indicating the relative size of segments of the video stream; computing in dependence on that dataset a time schedule for delivery of the segments, the time schedule indicating a target delivery time for each segment sufficient to deliver all the segments in the sequence in time for decoding and being independent of the encoded quality of each segment; for each segment: setting one or more transmission parameters for the segment in dependence on the target delivery time for the segment and the relative size of the segment; and delivering the segment over the network using the one or more transmission parameters.
Coalition network identification using iterative process
One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods are provided. Event information associated with a plurality of events may be identified. The plurality of events may be associated with first entities corresponding to a first entity type and second entities associated with a second entity type. A first network profile associated with the first entities and the second entities may be generated based upon the event information. An iterative process may be performed to identify a coalition network associated with fraudulent activity. The iterative process may include analyzing the first network profile to identify a first set of entities, of the first entities, that are related to an entity of the second entities, and/or analyzing the first network profile to identify a second set of entities, of the second entities, that are related to the first set of entities. Multiple iterations may be performed to identify the coalition network.
Methods and apparatus to monitor a media presentation
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to monitor a media presentation are disclosed. An example method includes in response to receipt of a media identifier, extracting, by executing an instruction with a processor, a timestamp from the received media identifier. A time of receipt of the media identifier is determined. A difference between the time of receipt of the media identifier and the timestamp from the received media identifier is determined. A time shifted viewing code is calculated based on the difference The time shifted viewing code is transmitted to a media monitor that transmitted the media identifier, the time shifted viewing code to be reported when the media monitor reports monitoring information.
Scheduling method, server, first peer node and computer-readable storage medium
A scheduling method includes: a server receiving a first request of a first peer (P2P) node; the first request containing service content; using position information on different network hierarchies of the first P2P node and the service content to determine at least one candidate P2P node for the first P2P node; the at least one candidate P2P node can provide a service for the first P2P node; the position information being position information generated on the basis of a network topology structure; using the at least one candidate P2P node to generate a candidate P2P node information list; P2P node information in the information list representing a transmission distance between the at least one candidate P2P node and the first P2P node; and returning the information list to the first P2P node. Further disclosed at the same time are a server, a first P2P node and a computer-readable storage medium.
MACHINE LEARNING TECHNIQUES FOR ADVANCED FREQUENCY MANAGEMENT
Systems and methods for frequency management, including: an online media service configured to: receive a request for a media item, the request including a recipient identifier; identify a set of candidate media items ranked by a set of matching criteria; a frequency management service configured to: perform a query against a lookup service, where the query includes (i) an entity identifier of at least one candidate media item of the set of candidate media items, and (ii) the recipient identifier; receive a response from the lookup service including a quantity of impressions associated with the entity identifier and the recipient identifier; identify a predefined frequency threshold; determine that the frequency threshold is exceeded and exclude the at least one candidate media item from a result set based on the determination; and provide the result set including an identifier of at least one other candidate media item.
Streaming event content based filtering
A method of per subscription event filtering is provided for an event recordation and distribution system. The method includes receiving an event from the event recordation and distribution system, determining that an event consumer that is a subscriber of an event stream of the event has specified filter logic for the event stream, and forwarding the event to an event consumer in response to the event meeting requirements of the specified filter logic.
Systems and methods for adaptive streaming of multimedia content
The disclosed computer-implemented method includes determining that audio quality is to be adjusted for a multimedia streaming connection over which audio data and video data are being streamed to a content player. The audio data is streamed at a specified audio quality level and the video data is streamed at a specified video quality level. The method also includes determining that a specified minimum video quality level is to be maintained while adjusting the audio quality level. Still further, the method includes dynamically adjusting the audio quality level of the multimedia streaming connection while maintaining the video quality level of the multimedia streaming connection at at least the specified minimum video quality level.
