Systems and methods for managing provisioning of keys prior to a key rotation are provided. A license server generates a license that is associated with a renewal time. The renewal time is a time that is prior to a key rotation time, and triggers a receiver device to send a renewal request prior to the key rotation time. The renewal time may be a randomized time prior to the key rotation time that differs for different receiver devices. The license is transmitted to the receiver device. The license server then receives a renewal request from the receiver device that is triggered at the renewal time. The license server generates a next license that comprises a next key, whereby the next key is a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted signal after the key rotation time. The next license is transmitted to the receiver device prior to the key rotation time.

In some embodiments, a method receives a message that identifies an asset being viewed on a video service at a timestamp. The message is associated with a profile identifier and a plurality of messages are received for the profile identifier while using the video service. The method determines a channel identifier for a channel in which the asset is offered during the timestamp and determines whether a channel change occurred based on the channel identifier and a prior channel identifier determined from a prior message in the plurality of messages. When the channel change has occurred, the method stores the channel identifier and timestamp for the profile identifier in a data structure, wherein a list of channels is generated by querying the data structure to determine a set of channel identifiers and timestamps for the profile identifier.

An apparatus, e.g. a wireless media access point, includes a transceiver, a non-transitory storage medium, and a processor operably coupled to the transceiver and the storage medium. The processor is configured by instructions stored on the storage medium to transmit a first multicast channel associated with a first group temporal key (GTK), and to simultaneously transmit a second multicast channel associated with a second GTK.

A pay television satellite broadcast includes validation data that can be used to validate authenticity of live global positioning system (GPS) data. The validation data may be included within entitlement messages and encrypted for security and selective reception by authorized receivers. A navigation system may compute checksums of received live GPS data and compare with the validation data for a match. A decision about whether or not to use the live GPS data may be taken based on whether or not the computed checksums match the validation data received via the pay television satellite broadcast signals.

A content viewing method uses a viewing system including a content distribution server distributing contents, a mobile information terminal, and a viewing device reproducing a content. The content distribution server authenticates the mobile information terminal based on the user identification information and the user password. The mobile information terminal transmits an account issue request requesting an account for reproducing a desired content to the content distribution server. The content distribution server issues the account based on the account issue request and transmits the account to the mobile information terminal. The mobile information terminal stores the account. The mobile information terminal transmits the account by short-range wireless communication. The viewing device stores the account received by short-range wireless communication. The viewing device reproduces the desired content using the stored account.

Techniques for on-demand issuance of private keys for encrypted video transmission are described. A video processing service of a provider network receives a request from a computing device outside the provider network to begin video processing of video data generated by a video source device outside the provider network. The video processing service sends instructions to a video encoding device associated with the video source device to establish the connection for video transmission. The video processing service sends an encryption key to the video encoding device, and sends a decryption key to a video decryption engine. Subsequently, the video processing service receives video data from the video source device, via the video encoding device.

A first playback device is configured to: operate as part of a synchrony group that comprises the first playback device and a second playback device; obtain a first version of audio content that is encoded according to a first encoding format; determine that the first version of the audio content is unsuitable for playback by the second playback device; based on the determination, (i) decode the first version of the audio content and (ii) re-encode a second version of the audio content according to a second encoding format; transmit the second version of the audio content to the second playback device for playback; cause the second playback device to play back the second version of the audio content; and play back the first version of the audio content in synchrony with the playback of the second version of the audio content by the second playback device.

A system and method for automatically distributing value received from the client for access to the media content is disclosed. The method comprises: defining a blockchain network, accepting a request for a media content transaction from the client, determining if the requested media content transaction complies with the value distribution agreement, and executing the requested media content transaction of the smart contract according to the determined compliance of the transaction with the value distribution agreement.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for performing secure frame encryption as a service. For instance, a network device can receive a first request for encrypting a first media stream associated with a first endpoint. In response to the first request, the network device can obtain a first encryption key for encrypting the first media stream associated with the first endpoint. The network device can receive, from the first endpoint, a first plurality of media frames corresponding to the first media stream and encrypt each of the first plurality of media frames using the first encryption key to yield a first plurality of encrypted media frames. The network device can packetize the first plurality of encrypted media frames into a first plurality of data packets for transmission to a second endpoint.
