AUTOMATED HAPTICS GENERATION AND DISTRIBUTION
Embodiments provide systems and techniques for automated haptics generation and distribution. An example technique includes receiving media content from a computing device. The media content includes at least one of audio content or video content. One or more features of the media content is determined. A set of haptic data is generated for the media content, based on evaluating the one or more features of the media content with at least one machine learning model. Another example technique includes obtaining a set of haptic data associated with media content. The set of haptic data, metadata, and the media content is transmitted to a computing device.
PERSONAL CINEMA METHOD AND SYSTEMS
A digital video system at a cinema includes a plurality of personal cinema experience area seats each with a display screen for viewing at least one of a programs playing the cinema or steamtable to the cinema. Each seat is positioned at a selected area of the cinema. One or more speakers are provided at each seat. A DCI compliant cinema player is provided for each seat of the plurality of personal cinema experience area seat.
DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PERSON RECOGNITION AND PRESENTATION
Provided are a display apparatus and a person recognition and presentation method. The display apparatus includes a display and a controller that is in communication with the display. The controller is configured to: associated information of a display interface of the display and generate a scenario image for recognition in response to a user command; obtain facial feature information for recognition in the scenario image; obtain similar facial feature information when a matching confidence level of pre-stored facial feature information in a database with the facial feature information for recognition does not exceed a preset confidence level; obtain average-person recognition data; generate a sharing control uniquely matching with the facial feature information for recognition; and control the display to present the average-person recognition data and the sharing control on a current display interface.
CONTROLLING COMMUNICATIONS FROM CONTENT SERVER TO END DEVICE
Communications from a content server to an end device via a proxy device are controlled. The content server and the proxy device are connected by a first link using a streaming control protocol. The proxy device also has a connection to the end device over a second link. The method includes obtaining information about a context of the end device. The method further includes determining where a decision should be made about controlling transmissions from the content server over the first link, based on the information about the context of the end device. The method further includes controlling transmissions from the content server over the first link, based on information relating to a Quality of Experience at the end device.
AUDIO-VIDEO-HAPTICS RECORDING AND PLAYBACK
Innovative techniques to generate a haptic stream are proposed. The proposed techniques allow haptic stream to be captured and along with audio/video stream. In so doing, a full experience—audio, video, haptics experience—may be experienced during playback.
Platform-independent USB driver communicating I.SUP.2.C commands to USB dongle through JAVA application
Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. A USB driver communicates I.sup.2C through a JAVA® application with a USB dongle implementing for example an ATSC 3.0 tuner, with the JAVA application simply passing I.sup.2C communication between the dongle and driver such that the driver is platform independent.
MANAGEMENT OF THE HTTP ADAPTIVE STREAMING OF AN ITEM OF DIGITAL CONTENT IN SCREEN SAVER MODE
A method for managing the HTTP adaptive streaming of an item of digital content within a multimedia stream player terminal in a local communication network is disclosed, the multimedia stream player terminal being associated with a terminal for rendering the item of digital content. On detection of an active state of a screen saver mode of the rendering terminal, such a management method implements a progressive reduction of a video rendering quality of the streamed item of digital content, and maintains an audio rendering quality of the item of content.
MULTIMEDIA CONTENT SECURE ACCESS
A method is disclosed for providing secure access to multimedia content to a user of a content service at a first user device configured to enable the user to consume the multimedia content. The method comprises: providing, from a second user device, a user identifier to a service provider of the content service, the second user device being provided with a subscriber identity module enabling the second user device to connect to a cellular communication network, the user identifier comprising an identifier of the subscriber identity module; at the second user device, receiving an access key from the service provider, through the cellular communication network, the access key being associated with the user identifier; providing the access key from the second user device to the first user device through a short-range connection, and at the first user device, using the access key to access the multimedia content.
DEVICE DISCOVERY FOR SOCIAL PLAYBACK
A system for device discovery for social playback is disclosed. The system operates to connect a host media playback device to a media output device and broadcast a social playback session to guest media playback devices. Upon joining a social playback session, a guest media playback device may control the media playback at the host media playback device. Where the media output for the social playback session is provided by the media output device.
METHOD FOR SWITCHING AUDIOVISUAL INTERFACES AND CIRCUIT SYSTEM
A method for switching audio-visual interfaces and a circuit system are provided. The circuit system is disposed in a sink device. A protocol layer circuit of each of audio-visual interfaces in the sink device includes a status and control data channel control module, which is used to respond to the signals sent by the video sources continuously when the sink device is connected with audio-visual sources via the audio-visual interfaces. The multiple video sources can accordingly send FRL (fixed rate link) signals to the sink device in response to responses made by the sink device. The protocol layer circuit includes an FRL audio-visual packet detection module that starts to detect a rate of an FRL and resolve audio-visual packets for obtaining audio-visual data for the audio-visual interface that the sink device switches to.
