DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
The present invention relates to a display device, and to a method for controlling the same. To this end, the display device of the present invention may comprise a communication unit and at least one processor. The communication unit may receive a first code for a first key input from a remote control device. The at least one processor transmits a command for the received first code to an infrared blaster through the communication unit, and based on receiving a control signal for the first key from a peripheral device connected to be operable with the display device, the processor may be configured to operate the display device.
METHOD FOR TELEVISON REMOTE KEYPRESS RESPONSE BASED ON ANDROID OPERATING SYSTEM AND TELEVISON THEREOF
This application provides a method for method for television (TV) remote keypress response based on Android operating system (OS) and a TV thereof, and includes: creating a first process when the Android OS is being initialized; executing the first process to obtain a key value of a remote keypress event; and performing a remote keypress operation according to the key value. The method creates and executes the first process during the initialization of the Android OS, thereby realizing responding to remote keypress during TV start-up, greatly enhancing user experience.
Universal voice assistant
Described are systems and methods for enabling voice interaction with appliances, services (e.g., media streaming services, gaming services, news feed services, social platform services, etc.), and the like by way of appropriate supplied apps (also referred to as “skills,” “actions,” or the like) which may be presented or downloaded to a smart device having associated therewith one or more cloud-based voice service platforms.
Systems and methods for modifying the display of inputs on a user input device
Systems and methods are described for adapting a second user input device to resemble a first user input device while preserving new functionalities not available in the first user input device. The systems and methods may identify, based on identifiers of the first and second user input devices, a first and second set of device functionalities provided by the devices. The systems and methods may compare the sets of device functionalities to determine a set of common device functionalities and, in response, modify the display of an input of the second user input device to correspond to visual attributes of an input of the first user input device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONFIGURATION OF A CONTROLLING DEVICE TO ENABLE SELECTION OF ONE OR MORE MEDIA STREAMS
A controlling device has a configurable key. An insert is provided to the configurable key and includes an indicium representative of a media content provider. An image of the indicium or an image of a QR code associated with the indicium is used to assign one or more commands to the configurable key. The one or more commands are used to cause a controllable device to tune to a channel on which the media content provider is being broadcast, to invoke an app associated with the media content provider, to access a website associated with the media content provider, and the like.
Adaptive remote control
A remote control that receives state information from an associated media device is disclosed. The remote control, in response to receiving data indicating that the media device is in a content state, may update an input assembly to indicate that the assembly may be used to perform a movement function. The remote control may instruct the media device to perform a movement function in response to a selection gesture, where the degree of movement is a single unit. In response to a swipe gesture, the remote control may instruct the media device to perform a linear movement with a greater degree of movement. Buttons and functions of the remote control may be further adapted in response to a menu-based state, or other states of the media device.
INTELLIGENT MAPPING FOR FAST ACCESS OF ANY CONTENT TYPE
Systems and methods for mapping keys on a remote control device to digital content items are disclosed. An algorithm is trained, based on user's consumption pattern, to determine whether a digital content item would be relevant to the user. If the digital content item matches the consumption pattern, then a key is automatically mapped, and if it does not, then a notification that includes a mapping suggestion is generated and mapped upon approval. A mapping table is updated to store only valid mappings. An input of a key results in quick display of the mapped digital content item from where it was previously exited.
A key can be mapped to a single or multiple digital content items. If similarities are detected between multiple digital content items, then they may both be mapped to the same key.
Universal audio device pairing assistant
Described are systems and methods for enabling an audio assisted connection between a device and appliances, networks, and the like by way of determination of relative locations. A device utilizes a microphone and/or speaker to communicate with a target device to ensure that the two devices are within sufficient proximity to ensure a proper connection.
System and method for simplified setup of a universal remote control
A system and method for enabling set up of a controlling device capable of controlling a plurality of appliances, via an interactive instruction set and associated programming. The programming is accessible by a STB or other controllable appliance and is configured to appropriately display interactive instructions and prompts to a user during a user initiated set up procedure for configuration of another controllable device (e.g., DVD, VCR, DVR, etc) available to the user.
