The present disclosure relates to a method, device and system for recording a television program, pertained to field of intelligent device. The method is applied in a router and includes: receiving an instruction for recording the television program, in which the instruction at least includes an appointment period and an identifier of a television channel; and downloading video data of being played by the television channel within the appointment period. By recording the video data via the router, a user may watch the video data recorded by the router within any period.

Example apparatus disclosed herein are to obtain, from a network monitor, an address associated with one or more network communications used to convey a media stream to a first input device of a plurality of input devices in communication with a media device, query one or more data structures based on the address to identify a first input source of the media device, the one or more data structures to map respective ones of the plurality of input devices to corresponding ones of a plurality of input sources of the media device, the plurality of input sources including the first input source, obtain a watermark from a meter that is to monitor an output of the media device, and identify the first input source of the media device as associated with media presented by the media device in response to determination that the watermark corresponds to the media stream.

The systems and methods are described herein for playback of content based on progress point information. The systems and methods detect nearby media devices to transmit or request progress point information. Based on the communicated progress point information, the system may generate an option to play back content at a point within the content up to which content was last consumed. When content providers offer different versions of one content item and the user does not select to play back content from the content provider associated with the progress point information, the system determines a proper playback point in other content providers.

In one embodiment, a command is received from a video provider at a media rendering device, the command being a command to embed a subscriber ID in at least one video frame in a video stream. A random key, k is also received from the video provider at the media rendering device. An injective transformation is invoked for k and the subscriber ID, the injective transformation generating a sequence of pairs of: near-transparent patterns and corresponding time periods. Logical blocks of the at least one video frame in the video stream are overlaid with one of the near-transparent patterns for its one of the corresponding time periods. A method and system for planning and running video-on-demand (VOD) advertising includes a planner for planning advertising campaigns and an ad selector for running selected advertisements from selected ones of the campaigns. The campaigns are associated with household demographic classifications, video content category categories, household geographic locations, and/or video viewing times. In response to a viewer requesting a video, the selector selects the campaigns corresponding to the demographic classification associated with the viewer, the content category of the requested video, the geographic location associated with the viewer, and/or the viewing time at which the requested video is viewed. The demographic classification is determined by using an identifier of the viewer's set-top-box. The selector may select the campaigns corresponding to the content categories of the requested video. The content categories are determined by using an identifier associated with the requested video.

Example embodiments provide systems and methods for replacing recorded media content. In an example method, at least one media content source is searched for a media content item recorded to storage of a first media content device. Based on the media content item being found at a first media content source of the at least one media content source, a recording of the media content item to storage of a second media content device is scheduled based on the media content item being recordable from the first media content source at the second media content device. Based on the media content item not being recordable from the first media content source at the second media device, the availability of the media content item is indicated to the second media content device.

A method is disclosed for protecting a multimedia content distributed by a content service to a user device, the multimedia content being related to a live event, wherein the method comprises, during the live event: identifying a significant segment of the live event; generating a trigger signal associated with the significant segment; at the user device, on the basis of the trigger signal, generating a marking comprising information identifying the user device; and, at the user device, applying the marking to a selected portion of the multimedia content, the selected portion corresponding to the significant segment of the live event.

Methods and apparatus to collect distributed user information for media impressions and search terms are disclosed. An example method includes accessing, from a media device, a first identifier and a search term at a first server, the first identifier corresponding to at least one of the media device or a user of the media device, the search term associated with a search request, generating a second identifier based on the first identifier, sending the second identifier and the search term from the first server to a data collection server to facilitate the data collection server to logging the search request, and receiving user information associated with the search request from a database proprietor based on the second identifier.

An example apparatus to monitor media that is presented via a mobile device includes: an application monitor to determine when media presentation software is being executed by the mobile device; and a metering information collector to collect at least one of a signature or a code of the media presented by the media presentation software based on the media presentation software being executed by the mobile device.

Exemplary aspects concern apparatuses and methods for display-related analysis of call data in an IPBX. In an example embodiment, an apparatus is configured to route data/VoIP calls via a data-communications server. An interface circuit is configured to selected parameters of interest based on capabilities of a set of devices and generate subscription requests to subscribe the devices to the parameters of interest. A processing circuit is configured to generate call summary metrics from call event messages for calls routed by the server and with subscription requests being associated with the parameters of interest. The call summary metrics are evaluated in connection with the parameters of interest as subscribed to by the devices and results of the evaluation are provided to the communications devices.
