The image forming apparatus accepts a selection indicating whether a communication between the external device and the image forming apparatus is performed by a first communication system method or a second communication system method. The image forming apparatus performs sending and/or receiving the image data with the address by the first communication system method when the first communication system method is selected, and performs sending and/or receiving the image data with the address by the second communication system method when the second communication system method is selected.

A terminal device includes a display capable of displaying a reception screen that accepts settings of a job using destination information, a controller capable of outputting an instruction for executing the job to an image processing apparatus based on the settings of the job accepted through the reception screen, an obtainer capable of transmitting a request for obtaining the destination information to the image processing apparatus and obtaining the destination information from the image processing apparatus, and a storage capable of storing the destination information. The controller displays the destination information stored in the storage and the destination information obtained from the image processing apparatus on the display in a selectable manner.

An image forming system includes a mobile terminal apparatus and an image forming apparatus. The mobile terminal apparatus displays a captured image of an operation panel of the image forming apparatus and transmits, in response to a user operation on the captured image, captured image data indicating the captured image and operation position data indicating a position of the user operation to the image forming apparatus. Based on the captured image data and the operation position data received from the mobile terminal apparatus, the image forming apparatus identifies an indirectly operated part of the operation panel, and executes an action corresponding to the identified part.

An apparatus that causes a device to print an image includes at least one processor, and a display screen. A state of the apparatus is changed from a first state to a second state when an image is settled as a print target by a user, the first state being a state in which the at least one processor does not cause the device to print the image even if the apparatus is put close to the device, and the second state being a state in which the at least one processor can cause the device to print the image if the apparatus is put close to the device. A downloaded software component controls the digital camera software and causes a handheld mobile device to perform operations.
