A method, processor, and non-transitory computer-readable medium are disclosed for real-time video stabilization and encoding in a single motion estimation pass for each frame. The method includes performing motion estimation on a stabilized current frame and determining a global motion vector using motion estimation information obtained in the performing of motion estimation on the stabilized current frame. A subsequent frame in a video stream is stabilized using this global motion vector. Motion estimation is performed on the stabilized subsequent frame.

An example device includes a U-shaped body to be placed around a guide on which a scanner carriage is to be guided. A fixed leg of the U-shaped body is attached to a linearly translatable scanner carriage. A free leg of the U-shaped body is not attached to the scanner carriage and has inward facing ribs. The ribs on the free leg of the U-shaped body are positioned to come into contact with the guide to align the scanner carriage with the guide.

According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a scanner unit, an image forming unit, a frame, a first adjustment mechanism, and a second adjustment mechanism. The scanner unit has an image reading section. The image forming unit forms an image read by the scanner unit on a sheet. The frame includes a first support section and a second support section. The first support section supports the image forming unit. The second support section is positioned below the scanner unit. The first adjustment mechanism steplessly adjusts a distance in an up-down direction between the scanner unit and the second support section. The second adjustment mechanism gradually adjusts the distance in the up-down direction between the scanner unit and the second support section.

An image reading apparatus including: a reading unit configured to read an image of an original in a main scanning direction; a housing configured to accommodate the reading unit; a guide member configured to guide a movement of the reading unit in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction; and a restricting member configured to restrict the movement of the reading unit in the sub-scanning direction and a movement of the reading unit in a vertical direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction.

According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a scanner unit, an image forming unit, a frame, a first adjustment mechanism, and a second adjustment mechanism. The scanner unit has an image reading section. The image forming unit forms an image read by the scanner unit on a sheet. The frame includes a first support section and a second support section. The first support section supports the image forming unit. The second support section is positioned below the scanner unit. The first adjustment mechanism steplessly adjusts a distance in an up-down direction between the scanner unit and the second support section. The second adjustment mechanism gradually adjusts the distance in the up-down direction between the scanner unit and the second support section.

An optical writing device performs writing by scanning an image surface of a photoconductor with light, and includes a light source unit including a light source that emits light, a deflection unit that deflects and scans the light, an optical element unit for the light, and a housing unit that holds the light source unit, the deflection unit, and the optical element unit. The housing unit includes a vibration isolator that isolates vibration transmitted from a vibration antinode where distribution of vibration in a sub direction perpendicular to a scanning direction of the light on the image surface of the photoconductor is maximum to at least one of seat face parts for the light source unit and the optical element unit having optical sensitivity in the sub direction, in a bottom face part of the housing unit, and a rigidity enhancer that increases rigidity of the seat face part.

An example device includes a U-shaped body to be placed around a guide on which a scanner carriage is to be guided. The housing unit includes a vibration isolator that isolates vibration transmitted from a vibration antinode where distribution of vibration in a sub direction perpendicular to a scanning direction of the light on the image surface of the photoconductor is maximum to at least one of seat face parts for the light source unit and the optical element unit having optical sensitivity in the sub direction, in a bottom face part of the housing unit, and a rigidity enhancer that increases rigidity of the seat face part.

A reading device includes: a transparent flat plate with an upper surface on which an object to be read is placed; a reading unit reading information on the object while moving in contact with a transparent flat plate lower surface; a retainer retaining the reading unit by urging the reading unit to be pressed against the lower surface; a guide member supporting and guiding the retainer along a movement direction at a time of reading by the reading unit; and a positioning structural member in at least one end of the reading unit and the retainer in a direction crossing the movement direction to position the reading unit to be maintained being displaceable relative to the retainer in a direction to be closer to and in a direction to be away from the transparent flat plate and being non-displaceable upstream and downstream in the movement direction.
