The first cover includes left and right rear cover components that are separately arranged at left and right sides of the first attachment frame serving as a dividing line at the rear surface of the operation unit and that cover at least a portion of the second attachment frame.

An image processing apparatus includes a document table, an image reading portion, a cover portion, a presser sheet, and a sheet winding portion. The presser sheet is provided on the cover portion, and contacts the document on the document table when the cover portion is positioned at the closing position. The sheet winding portion allows a first portion of the presser sheet to extend along the document table while holding a second portion of the presser sheet in a wound state. The sheet winding portion can feed the second portion when an external force is applied to the first portion. In the cover portion, a retreat space is formed so that the first portion of the presser sheet and a portion of the second portion fed from the sheet winding portion can retreat into the retreat space.

An information processing apparatus includes a manuscript reader configured to read a manuscript, an embedment processing unit configured to perform a process of embedding additional information into data of the manuscript that has been read by the manuscript reader. The embedment processing unit embeds, as the additional information, a pattern including a plurality of dots arranged in such a shape that an inclination of the manuscript is detectable.

An enclosure that can be utilized with an image capture device for digitizing documents can include a bin having a platform panel, an aperture panel, and side support panels. The aperture panel comprises an aperture passing through it. Documents or objects may be gathered and/or stored within the bin. When a user desires to digitally capture the documents or objects, the user may turn the bin on its side so that the aperture panel is on top and the platform panel is on bottom, place a document on the platform with the document facing the aperture, place an image capture device on the aperture panel with the image capture sensor aligned with the aperture and therefore facing the document, and capture an image of the document.

Objects are to provide a small imaging device that can take an image of a thick book without distortion of an image of a gutter and to improve the portability of an imaging device by downsizing the imaging device. The imaging device has imaging planes on both surfaces. All elements included in the imaging device are preferably provided over one substrate. A document camera system includes a page-turning device, an image pickup unit, a specification unit, a recognition unit, a determination unit and a notification unit. The page-turning device turns pages of a book. The image pickup unit picks up an image of each turned page. The specification unit specifies a page number portion in the image picked up by the image pickup unit. The recognition unit recognizes characters in the page number portion specified by the specification unit to identify a page number. The determination unit determines correctness of the order of the page numbers identified by the recognition unit. The notification unit notifies a user of an error when the determination unit determines that the order of the page numbers is incorrect.

An image reading device includes a mount table in which a mount surface is formed, a guide portion in which a guide surface is formed, the guide surface facing a side end face of a first portion of a booklet medium that is mounted on the mount table such that the mount surface faces the booklet medium, and an image capturer configured to capture an image of a second portion of the booklet medium, the second portion being different from the first portion, wherein a front cover slit is formed at an end of the guide portion on a side close to the mount surface.

An information processing apparatus includes a setting unit, a detector and a controller. The setting unit sets setting information associating a registered image obtained by reading an image with control information indicating whether input image data is to be stored or not. The detector detects the registered image from the input image data. The mobile device further comprises a mobile application which is further configured to control controller. The device further configured to scan the handwriting of a candidate to avoid malpractice during the examination.
