A signal correction device includes a correction signal generator configured to generate a correction signal serving to remove noise superimposed on an input signal; a phase adjuster configured to shift a phase of the correction signal generated by the correction signal generator; a subtractor configured to generate an output signal for output by subtracting the correction signal from the input signal; a peak and bottom detector configured to detect a peak value and a bottom value of the output signal; and a determiner configured to determine a phase-shift amount of the phase adjuster from the peak value and the bottom value of the output signal detected by the peak and bottom detector. The determiner detects uncorrected noise from the peak value and the bottom value of the output signal from the subtractor, and sets the phase-shift amount such that the uncorrected noise is reduced to a minimum.

Printing system control

A method and system of controlling at least one printbar in a printing system are described. The printing system has one or more of printbars distributed along a media transport. A first image including a reference pattern is generated on a print medium with a first printbar. A pattern is then detected on the print medium. The reference pattern and the detected pattern are used to determine a position of the first image relative to a second printbar. This position is used to configure nozzle data for a second image to be generated on the print medium by the second printbar.

An image processing apparatus including: a halftone processing unit configured to generate halftone image data represented by a halftone dot corresponding to a density value by performing halftone processing using a dither matrix for input image data; a phase change processing unit configured to correct a deviation of a laser beam scan line that is used in forming an image in accordance with the input image data on a printing medium by performing phase change processing to shift the phase of a pixel in the halftone image data in a sub scanning direction; and a pseudo high-resolution processing unit configured to convert the halftone image data after the phase change processing into halftone image data with a lower resolution by performing pseudo high-resolution processing, and in the dither matrix, threshold values are arranged so that the number of pixels in the sub scanning direction, which make up the halftone dot, is always even.

A method and system of controlling at least one printbar in a printing system are described. The printing system has one or more of printbars (160, 190) distributed along a media transport. A first image including a reference pattern (240A, 240B) is generated on a print medium (150) with a first printbar (160). A detector (180) then detects a pattern on the print medium. The reference pattern and the detected pattern are used to determine a position of the first image relative to a second printbar (190). This position is used to configure nozzle data for a second image to be generated on the print medium by the second printbar.
