Embodiments of the present disclosure include an apparatus with a camera. A shutter is positioned horizontally in front of the lens of the camera. The shutter is configured to move in front of a lens of the camera and is further configured to move orthogonally to the horizontal axis so as to at least partially obscure the lens of first camera in a closed shutter position. The apparatus further includes a motor positioned horizontally behind the front of the lens of the camera. The motor is configured to move the shutter orthogonally to the horizontal axis between the closed shutter position and an open shutter position.

The operations further comprise controlling the rear-facing camera to enable the rear-facing camera to capture the image, receiving the image, and outputting, user feedback based on the image, where the user feedback is outputted on the display that is on the opposite side of the mobile device than the rear-facing camera.

Industrial tool imaging

An imaging system may include a housing having shape and size sufficient to receive an industrial tool inserted into the housing. The imaging system may further include a plurality of cameras and a plurality of light sources positioned within the housing in a manner to surround the industrial tool upon insertion of the industrial tool into the housing. The imaging system may include a processing unit to control operation of the cameras and light sources and adjust relative positions of the cameras and light sources in relation to the industrial tool to capture a plurality of images of relevant portions of the industrial tool. The plurality of images collectively reveals substantially all of the relevant portions of the industrial tool. A method and computer-readable medium are also disclosed.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, that validate the synchronization of controllers in an aquaculture environment. One of the methods includes an image processor that receives images generated by a first image generating device that includes a light filter that is associated with light of a particular light frequency while an aquaculture environment was illuminated with light. Based on the image, the image processor determines whether the intensity value of the light frequency in the image satisfies a threshold value. Based on determining whether the intensity value of the light frequency in the image satisfies the threshold value, the image processor determines whether the aquaculture environment was illuminated with light of the particular light frequency when the image was generated. The image processor provides an indication of whether the aquaculture was illuminated with light of the particular frequency when the image was generated.

System and method for image stitching

A system for stitching images together is disclosed. The images are sometimes referred to as frames, such as frames in a video sequence. The system comprises one or more imagers (e.g. cameras) that work in coordination with a matching amount of custom code modules. The system achieves image stitching using approximately one third the Field of View (FOV) of each imager (camera) and also by increasing the number of imagers to be above a predetermined threshold. The system displays these stitched images or frames on a computer monitor, either in a still-image context but also in a video-context. Normally these tasks would involve a great detail of computation, but the system achieves these effects while managing the computational load. In stitching the images together, it is sometimes necessary to introduce some image distortion (faceting) in the combined image. The system ensures no gaps in any captured view, and assists in achieving full situational awareness for a viewer.

The generating operation of the third image includes generating the depth information with respect to the third image.
