The present invention relates to a broadcast reception device. A broadcast reception device according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: an impedance matching circuit for adjusting an input impedance value of the broadcast reception device; and a control unit, wherein the control unit can control the impedance matching circuit so as to adjust the input impedance value to a predetermined reference impedance value when the mode of the broadcast reception device is a mode for receiving a broadcast signal through a cable, and control the impedance matching circuit so as to adjust the input impedance value to be less than the predetermined reference impedance value when the mode of the broadcast reception device is not the mode for receiving a broadcast signal through a cable. Therefore, since a broadcast signal can be appropriately amplified while a criterion related to a reflection loss is satisfied, network management costs of a network provider can be reduced and a broadcast image of better quality can be provided to a user. Other various embodiments are possible.

Arrangement for aligning upstream path

A network element of a cable television network includes at least a first and a second upstream amplifier stage, a first attenuator and a first equalizer between the first and the second amplifier stage, and a second attenuator after the second upstream amplifier stage in upstream signal path direction. A target value is determined for total attenuation of the components of the amplifier. The total attenuation is a sum of attenuations of the first attenuator, the first equalizer, and the second attenuator. The attenuation of the first equalizer is preset. The attenuation of the first attenuator is set to a maximum value such the sum of the attenuations of the first attenuator and the first equalizer is below a first threshold value. The attenuation of the second attenuator is set such that the total attenuation reaches the target value.

Vehicular vision system that provides camera outputs to receivers using repeater element

A vehicular vision system includes a camera and a repeater element at a vehicle. The repeater element is powered at least in part via power-over-coax and includes a de-serializer, a repeater and at least two serializers. The camera captures image data and outputs a camera output that includes serialized image data. The camera output is received at the repeater element and is de-serialized via the de-serializer to generate a de-serialized output. The de-serialized output is provided to the repeater and at least two repeater outputs are provided to the serializers. The serializers serialize the received repeater outputs to generate respective serialized outputs. The serializers each output the respective serialized output to a respective receiver of the vehicle. Each of the serialized outputs is representative of the serialized image data of the camera output received from the camera.

There is a problem that video data cannot be relayed from a transmission device having an HDMI connector to a receiving device having a USB Type-C connector. In order to solve the above problem, each of a receiving device having an HDMI reception function unit and a relay device, such as a conversion cable for relaying video data from a transmission device, is made to have a function of determining the other devices. By performing switching of a terminator or a protection element between valid and invalid or performing signal connection switching based on the determination result of the function unit, the above problem can be solved. In addition, it is also possible to realize reverse insertion connection for reversing the video data transmission direction of the relay device.
