As a result, the 3D-LUT can be generated more easily.

A capture device is equipped with a stereo camera, and generates a plurality of demosaiced images of different sizes in which the left and right frame images have been reduced in stepwise fashion. A virtual composite image is generated that includes the plurality of demosaiced images, in which the pixel rows of the rows are pixel rows having undergone one round of connection. A host terminal sends to the capture device a data request signal designating a plurality of areas within the composite image, having a shared range in the longitudinal direction. The capture device clips out the designated areas, and sends to the host terminal a stream of a new composite image comprising only the clipped out areas. The host terminal cuts this into separate images, which are expanded into consecutive addresses in a main memory.

An imaging method is provided which is capable of performing a color measurement easily and appropriately by using a camera. An imaging apparatus captures an image of a face of a user together with a correction device placed close to the face of the user, and identifies a part in the image of the face of the user for which a color measurement is to be performed. The imaging apparatus acquires a colorimetric value of the identified part and corrects the acquired colorimetric value by using the image of the correction device.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for selectively processing tiles of a captured image. The captured image may be parsed into a plurality of tiles. A subset of the plurality of tiles may be selected based at least in part on at least one metric. The selected tiles may be processed according to a first technique, while each unselected tile may be selectively processed according to one or more techniques different from the first technique. The first technique and the one or more techniques may each be either an image demosaicing technique or an image denoising technique.

An exemplary demosaicing method includes a demosaic module receiving a frame of raw pixels, generating vertical and horizontal estimated color pixel values for missing color pixel values using information from the frame of raw pixels, generating vertical and horizontal color difference signals using information from the frame of raw pixels and the vertical and horizontal estimated color pixel values, and creating a full resolution frame of pixels using information from the frame of raw pixels and color difference signals selected from the vertical and horizontal color difference signals. The full resolution frame of pixels may include one captured color pixel value and two reconstructed color pixel values for each location in the full resolution frame of pixels and may be sent to a display unit for display.
