Reproduction device, reproduction method, and recording medium that display graphics based on tone mapping
09832440 · 2017-11-28 · ·

The present technology relates to a reproduction device, a reproduction method, and a recording medium capable of displaying graphics with a broader dynamic range of luminance and appropriate brightness. The reproduction device reads a Tone_map stream and a graphics stream of an extended graphics from a recording device, wherein the recording device records the Tone_map stream including HDR information indicating a luminance feature of the extended graphics which are first graphics with a first luminance range different from and broader than a second luminance range, and a luminance conversion definition information used in luminance conversion from the extended graphics to standard graphics. The standard graphics are graphics with the second luminance range. The reproduction device converts the extended graphics into the standard graphics based on the luminance conversion definition information of the extended graphics included in the Tone map stream.

DEFECT INSPECTION APPARATUS AND DEFECT INSPECTION METHOD

This defect inspection apparatus (100) is provided with: an excitation unit (1), a laser illumination unit (2), an interference unit (3) for causing laser light to interfere; an imaging unit (35) for imaging the interfered reflected light; and a control unit (4). The control unit (4) is configured to measure a spatial distribution of periodically varying physical properties caused by propagation of vibration of an inspection target, based on the interfered reflected light imaged by an imaging unit and extract a vibration discontinuous portion based on the spatial distribution of the physical quantities. The control unit is configured to perform control of displaying the extracted vibration discontinuous portion so as to be emphasized and superimposed on a still image of the inspection target captured by the imaging unit.

Blending images using mismatched source and display electro-optical transfer functions

Input video signals characterized by a source electro-optical transfer function (EOTF) are to be blended and displayed on a target display with a target EOTF which is different than the source EOTF. Given an input set of blending parameters, an output set of blending parameters is generated as follows. The input blending parameters are scaled by video signal metrics computed in the target EOTF to generate scaled blending parameters. The scaled blended parameters are mapped back to the source EOTF space to generate mapped blending parameters. Finally the mapped blending parameters are normalized to generate the output blending parameters. An output blended image is generating by blending the input video signals using the output blending parameters. Examples of generating the video signal metrics are also provided.

Frame selection of video data

A system and method for selecting portions of video data from preview video data is provided. The system may extract image features from the preview video data and discard video frames associated with poor image quality based on the image features. The system may determine similarity scores between individual video frames and corresponding transition costs and may identify transition points in the preview video data based on the similarity scores and/or transition costs. The system may select portions of the video data for further processing based on the transition points and the image features. By selecting portions of the video data, the system may reduce a bandwidth consumption, processing burden and/or latency associated with uploading the video data or performing further processing.
