This application provides a router. A shielding portion is formed by extending outward an end of a housing where a rotary shaft seat is disposed. The rotary shaft seat is disposed on a side of the shielding portion facing a back of the housing. An end of the shielding portion away from the housing extends to at least a side of the rotary shaft seat away from the housing, so as to shield a front of the rotary shaft seat. In this way, the rotary shaft seat is invisible in a conventional viewing angle, that is, a viewing angle from a front of the router.

System and method for electronically identifying connections of a system used to make connections

One embodiment is directed to a system that comprises a plurality of ports configured to establish a plurality of physical information connections and a plurality of physical scanning connections using cables. Each information connection is associated with a respective scanning connection. Each scanning connection is separate from the respective information connection associated with that scanning connection. The system is configured to selectively transmit a respective scanning signal from each port over a respective one of the scanning connections. The system is configured to selectively receive a respective scanning signal at each port from a respective one of the scanning connections. Connection information is derived from the scanning signals communicated over the scanning connections. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A remote processing unit is disposed outside of the shielding in communication with the local transmitter/receiver. A control system and method are also disclosed.

The system having: a network of a plurality of sensing/control/identification devices distributed throughout the machine, at least one of the plurality of sensing/control/identification devices associated with at least one sub-system component of the machine and operable to communicate through a plurality of electromagnetic signals; shielding surrounding at least one of the sensing/control/identification devices to contain the electromagnetic signals proximate to the at least one sub-system component; and a remote processing unit operable to communicate with the network of the sensing/control/identification devices through the electromagnetic signals, wherein the at least one of the plurality of sensing/control/identification devices has internal memory independent of the remote processing unit, the internal memory having historical data corresponding to the least one sub-system component.

Each identification device includes a unique code characteristic of the component and the identification device is readable by one or more readers to interrogate the unique code characteristic. Shielding surrounds at least one of the identification devices to contain the electromagnetic signals proximate to the component and a communication path is integrally formed in the component of the machine to route a portion of the electromagnetic signals through the component. A remote processing unit is operable to communicate with the network of the identification devices through the electromagnetic signals.
