Systems and methods may be used to predict an applicable a hearing assistance device shell or model. For example, a method may include obtaining patient information, determining, using a machine learning trained model, a correlation between an input vector and each of a plurality of feature vectors corresponding to a plurality of hearing assistance device models, and ranking the plurality of hearing assistance device models based on respective correlations to the input vector. Information corresponding to a highest ranked hearing assistance device model may be output.

HEARING SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR PERSONALIZING A HEARING AID

A hearing system includes a processing device, a hearing aid adapted to be worn by a user, and a data logger. The hearing aid includes an input transducer providing an electric input signal representing sound in the environment of the user, and a hearing aid processor executing a processing algorithm in dependence of a specific parameter setting. The data logger stores time segments of said electric input signal, and data representing a corresponding user intent. The processing device comprises a simulation model of the hearing aid. The simulation model is based on a learning algorithm configured to provide a specific parameter setting optimized to the user's needs in dependence of a hearing profile of the user, the logged data, and a cost function. A method of determining a parameter setting for a hearing aid is further disclosed.

Sensory-based environmental adaptation

Presented herein are techniques for monitoring the sensory outcome of a recipient of a sensory prosthesis in an ambient environment that includes one or more controllable network connected devices. The sensory outcome of the recipient in the environment is used to make operational changes to the one or more controllable network connected devices in order to create an improved environment for recipient.

METHOD FOR ADAPTING A PLURALITY OF SIGNAL PROCESSING PARAMETERS OF A HEARING INSTRUMENT IN A HEARING SYSTEM

A method for adapting signal processing parameters of a hearing instrument of a hearing system. A number of acoustic indicators (IndA) for a temporary environmental situation of a user of the hearing instrument is ascertained from an input signal generated by a transducer. A first sensor ascertains a number of peripheral indicators (IndP) for the existing temporary environmental situation. Based on the acoustic and peripheral indicators (IndA, IndP) the system determines whether the existing temporary environmental situation falls into a known class of temporary environmental situations. If it does not, a new class is defined with the respective ascertained acoustic and peripheral indicator(s) (IndA, IndP), and the plurality of signal processing parameters are assigned a corresponding plurality of parameter values, according to which the first input signal is to be processed to form the output signal upon the future existence of a temporary environmental situation from the new class.

METHOD OF OPERATING AN IN-SITU FITTING SYSTEM AND AN IN-SITU FITTING SYSTEM

A method of operating an in-situ fitting system (100) adapted to suggest an improved hearing aid parameter setting for a current user based on evaluated hearing aid parameter settings from a plurality of other users. The invention is also directed at an in-situ fitting system adapted to carry out said method.
