Hearing assistance device with an accelerometer

A hearing assistance device is discussed that has one or more accelerometers, a user interface, and optionally a left/right determination module is configured to receive input data from the one or more accelerometers from user actions causing control signals as sensed by the accelerometers to trigger a program change for an audio configuration for the device selected from a group consisting of a change in amplification/volume control, a change in a mute mode, a change of a hear loss profile loaded into that hearing assistance device, and a change in a play-pause mode.

SYSTEM OF PROCESSING DEVICES TO PERFORM AN ALGORITHM

A system comprising a plurality of processing devices is arranged for performing an algorithm having a plurality of computational tasks. The plurality of processing devices are interconnected with each other. A control logic module is adapted to select an implementation of the algorithm among a plurality of implementations. At least a part of the control logic module resides in one of the processing devices and the implementation is selected according to at least one criterion of (latency requirements, computational power, resource availability, data locality, privacy requirements, precision requirements, hardware capabilities, distance, location, acoustical performance requirements, energy efficiency, orientation) and in the selected implementation the plurality of computational tasks of the algorithm is distributed over at least two of the processing devices.

MULTI-DEVICE INTEGRATION WITH HEARABLE FOR MANAGING HEARING DISORDERS

Hearing management, using a portable device or integrated portable devices, can include generating during a hearing diagnostics phase an audiogram based on responses of a user to signals conveyed to the user. In response to detecting ambient noises during the hearing diagnostics phase, noise cancellation can be performed to cancel the ambient noises in conjunction with conveying the signals to the user. During a hearing enhancement phase, sounds can be captured with the portable device. The captured sounds can be enhanced in real-time during the hearing enhancement phase by amplifying select frequencies of the captured sounds using signal gain. The frequencies can be selected, and the signal gain determined based on the audiogram. The captured sounds, now enhanced, can be conveyed to the user as frequency-enhanced sounds.

Data control system for a data server and a plurality of cellular phones, a data server for the system, and a cellular phone for the system

A data control system comprises a user terminal such as a cellular phone, or an assist appliance, or a combination thereof, and a server in communication with the user terminal. The user terminal acquires the name of a person and an identification data of the person for storage as a reference on an opportunity of the first meeting with the person, and acquires the identification data of the person on an opportunity of meeting again to inform the name of the person with visual and/or audio display if the identification data is in consistency with the stored reference. The reference is transmitted to a server which allows another person to receive the reference on the condition that the same person has given a self-introduction both to a user of the user terminal and the another person to keep privacy of the same person against unknown persons.

DIRECT INFORMATIVE COMMUNICATION THROUGH AN EAR-WEARABLE DEVICE
20220360913 · 2022-11-10 ·

A method and system are described for providing high-priority notification messages to a user of an ear-wearable device system. The ear-wearable device system includes a physiological sensor present on, within, or carried with the user and an ear-wearable device comprising a speaker, a microphone, a processor, a memory storage, and a wireless communication device. The system is capable of receiving a plurality of sensor messages from the physiological sensor, identifying high-priority sensor information from among the plurality of received sensor messages, identifying content for an audio voice message to provide to the user, and providing the audio voice message at the speaker of the ear-wearable device. The content includes user notification information containing or based on the high-priority sensor information identified from among the received sensor messages

METHOD FOR OPERATING A HEARING AID SYSTEM HAVING A HEARING INSTRUMENT, HEARING INSTRUMENT AND HEARING AID SYSTEM
20230099454 · 2023-03-30 ·

A method for operating a hearing aid system having a hearing instrument includes using at least one first sensor of the hearing aid system to detect an immediate danger situation arising for a wearer of the hearing aid system in road traffic. An electroacoustic output transducer of the hearing instrument is used to transmit a sound signal suitable for triggering an acoustic startle reflex in the wearer to a hearing aid. A hearing instrument and a hearing aid system are also provided.

20230031093 · 2023-02-02 ·

The disclosure relates to a method of operating a hearing system comprising an ear unit wearable at an ear of a user, an output transducer included in the ear unit, and a detector arrangement comprising a plurality of spatially separated sound detectors and configured to provide audio data representative of the detected sound.

Detection of physical abuse or neglect using data from ear-wearable devices

A system may obtain a set of features characterizing a segment of inertial measurement unit (IMU) data generated by an IMU of an ear-wearable device. The system may apply a machine learning model (MLM) that takes the features characterizing the segment of the IMU data as input. The system may determine, based on output values produced by the MLM, whether a user of the ear-wearable device has potentially been subject to physical abuse. The system may then perform an action in response to determining that the user of the ear-wearable device has potentially been subject to physical abuse.

System and method for validation of hearing aids for infants using a speech signal

A system for validation of a hearing aid performance, especially in small children is disclosed. The validation of the performance of hearing aids after having being fitted to a small child who is not able to subjectively provide responses to sounds presented to the child via the hearing aids, is instead done in an objective manner, by using a naturally occurring signal, which has been modulated in order to create an ASSR evoking speech stimulus which is not considered as noise by a hearing aid.
