METHOD FOR DESIGNING A LINE ARRAY LOUDSPEAKER ARRANGEMENT
A method for designing a line array loudspeaker arrangement comprises providing a loudspeaker arrangement based on design start parameters and including at least a vertical front array and measuring the frequency responses of the loudspeaker arrangement with bypassed or omitted electronic filters at predefined horizontal angle increments. The method further comprises computing combined beam forming and crossover filter frequency responses for the vertical front array based on the measured frequency responses of the loudspeaker arrangement and first target frequency responses at various frequency points and various positions; and computing combined equalizing and crossover filter frequency responses for the vertical front array based on second target frequency responses, the combined equalizing and crossover filter frequency responses being configured to obtain acoustic linear phase responses of the loudspeaker arrangement.
Smart audio system capable of determining speaker type and position
There is provided a smart audio system including multiple audio devices and a central server. The central server confirms a model of every audio device and a position thereof in an operation area in a scan mode. The central server confirms a user position or a user state to accordingly control output power of a speaker of each of the multiple audio devices in an operation mode.
Acoustic monitoring using a sound masking emitter as a sensor
Example embodiments may include one or more of receiving an electrical sound emission signal from a sound controller, interrupting reception of the electrical sound emission signal, by a sound emission interruption circuit connected to a sound emitter, and receiving an electrical ambient sound signal via a sound detection circuit, based on ambient sound sensed by the sound emitter when the reception of the electrical sound emission signal is interrupted by the sound emission interruption circuit.
Customized automated audio tuning
An example method of operation may include identifying, in a particular room environment, a number of speakers and one or more microphones on a network controlled by a controller and amplifier, providing test signals to play sequentially from each amplifier channel of the amplifier and the speakers, monitoring the test signals from the one or more microphones simultaneously to detect operational speakers and amplifier channels, providing additional test signals to the speakers to determine tuning parameters, detecting the additional test signals at the one or more microphones controlled by the controller, and automatically establishing a background noise level and noise spectrum of the room environment based on the detected additional test signals.
NON-VISUAL NOTIFICATIONS FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES
An audio notification system for an autonomous vehicle (AV) determines that the AV is within range of a user and emits a sound though a speaker of the AV to notify that the user that the vehicle has arrived. The audio notification system may include a sensor for sensing that the user has accessed the AV, and turns off the sound in response to the user accessing the AV. The audio notification may be generated according to one or more audio options, e.g., volume, pitch, or audio pattern.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING THE PROPAGATION OF ACOUSTIC WAVES ON A WALL
A method and a device for controlling the propagation of acoustic waves in the vicinity of a wall, the method and device implementing a master device for controlling a set Nc of cells primarily made up of a speaker, a set of Nm microphones connected to the speaker, and a control unit, by means of control laws that determine the intensity of the electrical signal that must be sent to each speaker so as to obtain a target determined generalized acoustic impedance for each speaker, such that a fraction of the acoustic waves is absorbed by the membrane of each speaker.
Playback Device Configuration
Examples described herein involve configuring a playback device based on distortion, such as that caused by a barrier. One implementation may involve causing the playback device to play audio content according to an existing playback configuration, determining an existing frequency response of the playback device in a given system, and determining whether a difference between the existing frequency response of the playback device in the given system and a predetermined frequency response for the playback device is greater than a predetermined distortion threshold. If it is determined that the difference between the existing frequency response of the playback device and the predetermined frequency response for the playback device is greater than the predetermined distortion threshold, then the existing playback configuration of the playback device is changed to an updated playback configuration of the playback device and the playback device plays audio content according to the updated playback configuration.
A SOUND OUTPUT UNIT AND A METHOD OF OPERATING IT
A system and a method for outputting sound where one or more first sound outputting units are identified and other, second, sound outputting units define a sound delay in accordance with the relative positions between each sound outputting unit and the first sound outputting unit(s). Microphones may be added to e.g. determine the amount and positions of persons.
The system may also use Intelligent cameras to determine number of people their position the room face direction and age distribution in order optimize audio level and equalisation of the frequency response—like in a church with many elder people or in a young audience at a live concert.
Methods and system for adjusting level of tactile content when presenting audio content
An audio system presented herein includes a transducer array, a sensor array, and a controller. The transducer array presents audio content to a user. The controller controls the transducer array to adjust a level of tactile content imparted to the user via actuation of at least one transducer in the transducer array while presenting the audio content to the user. The audio system can be part of a headset.
Transducer steering and configuration systems and methods using a local positioning system
Transducer steering and configuration systems and methods using a local positioning system are provided. The position and/or orientation of transducers, devices, and/or objects within a physical environment may be utilized to enable steering of lobes and nulls of the transducers, to create self-assembling arrays of the transducers, and to enable monitoring and configuration of the transducers, devices, and objects through an augmented reality interface. The transducers and devices may be more optimally configured which can result in better capture of sound, better reproduction of sound, improved system performance, and increased user satisfaction.
