CONTINUOUS AUTHENTICATION FOR DIGITAL SERVICES BASED ON CONTACTLESS CARD POSITIONING
20230050991 · 2023-02-16 · ·

Various embodiments are generally directed to continuous authentication of a user to a digital service based on activity of a contactless card positioned proximate to a computing device on which the digital service operates. For example, a series of periodic status messages may be provided between a client device and the contactless card to verify whether the contactless card remains active, wherein authorization to access the digital service continues while the contactless card is active, and terminates when the contactless card is inactive.

Multi-services gateway device at user premises

An application gateway including application service programming positioned at a user premises can provide voice controlled and managed services to a user and one or more endpoint devices associated with the application gateway. The application gateway can be controlled remotely by the application service provider through a service management center and configured to execute an application service provided from the application service provider. The application gateway can execute the application service at the user premises upon voice command by a user and independent of application services executing on the application service provider's network. An application service logic manager can communicate with an application service enforcement manager to verify that the request conforms with the policy and usage rules associated with the application service in order to authorize execution of the application service on the application gateway, either directly or through endpoint devices.

EMERGENCY REPORTING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE
20230041885 · 2023-02-09 ·

An emergency reporting system for a vehicle includes a server memory, an acquisition control processor, and first and second authentication processors. The server memory holds personalized emergency data regarding an occupant to be on board the vehicle or access data to the personalized emergency data. The acquisition control processor makes acquirable the personalized emergency data or the access data held in the server memory regarding the occupant on board the vehicle in which an emergency situation is detected by a detector of the vehicle, in a case where a server apparatus receives an emergency report from the vehicle in which the emergency situation is detected, and at least a combination of the occupant and the vehicle is authenticated by the second authentication processor.

Management of near field communications using low power modes of an electronic device

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for managing near field communications during a low power management mode of an electronic device are provided that may make credentials of a near field communication (“NFC”) component appropriately secure and appropriately accessible while also limiting the power consumption of the NFC component and of other components of the electronic device.

System and Method of Generating and Using Bilaterally Generated Variable Instant Passwords
20180013757 · 2018-01-11 ·

Implementations of a system and method of generating and using bilaterally generated variable instant passwords are disclosed. The system is used to secure electronic transactions (e.g., an auction in which one or more bidders are unknown to the auctioneer). In this system an Internet Service Provider (ISP), on request from a USER (e.g., a bidder), facilitates an authentication process with a SERVICE PROVIDER (e.g., an auctioneer). The SERVICE PROVIDER may send a sub-folder, containing a USER name, a temporary sub variable character set, and a CALL, to the USER through the ISP. The password used to access the sub-folder is transmitted directly to the USER by the SERVICE PROVIDER. The USER gets authenticated to the SERVICE PROVIDER by using the USER name, the temporary sub variable character set, and the CALL retrieved from the sub-folder. After USER's authentication, further transactions (e.g., bids) are performed using a password for each transaction.
