TECHNIQUES TO SUPPORT EMERGENCY CALLS WITH OVER-THE-TOP SERVICE PROVIDER
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A wireless device such as an in-vehicle system (IVS) may transmit an emergency call (eCall) message to a third party eCall server using a communication session which may be packet based or circuit based. The eCall message may include session information and telematics data. The third party eCall server may relay the session information and telematics data to a public safety answering point (PSAP). For example, the third party eCall server may generate an automatic text-to-speech message that is transmitted to the PSAP over a public communications network. In some cases, the third party eCall server may transmit a response to the wireless device including metadata based on the telematics data transmitted in the eCall message. The eCall message may also include a call-back number, and the PSAP may contact the wireless device directly using the call-back number.
WIRELESS DOOR LOCK SYSTEM WITH AN EMERGENCY REPORTING FUNCTION AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME
A wireless door lock system with an emergency reporting function includes a user device, a door lock device, a network server and at least one recipient device. When the user device transmits a request signal for reporting an emergency condition to the door lock device, the door lock device determines if the user device is a paired device of the door lock device according to the request signal and further sends an emergency condition confirmation signal to the user device by way of wireless communication. The user device is then connected to the network server through the Internet and transmits an emergency condition signal to activate the network server to perform a push notification service and send an emergency condition message to the at least one recipient device. Given the push notification, the emergency condition message can be instantly provided to right recipients for emergency condition notification.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM FOR GEOLOCATION DATA DISCOVERY IN STREAMING TEXTS
A geolocation data discovery method, system, and non-transitory computer readable medium, include a secure text mining circuit configured to mine a textual alert message of an event from secure source data for a geolocational indicator, a temporal indicator, and a type of alert, a geolocation and temporal embedding circuit configured to embed a geolocational tag location and a temporal tag time to the event based on the geolocational indicator and the temporal indicator mined from the textual alert message by the secure text mining circuit, and an event mapping circuit configured to map the event with an icon related to the type of alert at the geolocational tag location on a navigational map at a time associated with the temporal tag time of the event.
Survivable mobile network system
A method of establishing communication links during a failure within a mobile communications network includes detecting disruptions in communications between a plurality of base stations and a plurality of mobile terminals. Survivability components are activated within the base station and the mobile terminal to operate in a survivability mode. The survivability mode enables communications and services to be provided by the surviving base stations to mobile terminals through activated survivability components. The alternate communication links may operate for as long as a disruption exists.
Transfer of emergency services session between disparate subsystems
Methods and nodes for coordinating communication sessions are described herein. A method includes providing, by a control system, a signaling anchor point at a domain transfer function in a visited multimedia subsystem for an access signaling leg and a remote access signaling leg for a communication session between a user element and a public service access point and coordinating call signaling for the communication session via the access signaling leg and the remote signaling leg.
Method and system for optimal emergency communication
This invention relates to automatic delivery of messages, particularly to provide delivery of messages as a single instance message in which the user has the greatest probability of successful transmittance of the emergency message in one single instance of transmission.
Obtaining pseudorange information using a cellular device
The cellular device accesses a GPS/GNSS chipset embedded within the cellular device. The GPS/GNSS chipset calculates pseudorange information for use by the GPS/GNSS chipset. The cellular device extracts the pseudorange information from the GPS/GNSS chipset for use elsewhere in the cellular device outside of the GPS/GNSS chipset.
Method and system for monitoring an alarm system
The problem of the vulnerability of an alarm system when its communication with an alarm central is lost or nonexistent is solved by maintaining a monitoring channel with the alarm system. A server establishes and maintains the communication channel with the alarm system via an interface module connected to the alarm system, and if the alarm system is unable to communicate with an alarm central receiver, or if the first communication channel is closed, then the server connects to one or both of the alarm central receiver and a user's phone, so as to communicate a message thereto indicative of a breach or failure of the alarm system. The alarm system is connected to the alarm central through the monitoring server which then acts as a gateway.
System and method for controlling equipment installed within a building upon receiving disaster notification
An equipment control system includes a disaster notification apparatus configured to transmit a disaster notification, and a wireless communication apparatus provided in a building. The wireless communication apparatus receives the disaster notification, and determines whether a user of a portable terminal is present in the building, based on a communication situation between the wireless communication apparatus and one or more portable terminals. Upon receiving the disaster notification, the wireless communication apparatus controls one or more pieces of equipment installed within the building, differently depending on whether the user of the portable terminal is present in the building.
Safety monitoring platform
In some implementations, a system can transmit communications indicating an occurrence of a particular type of safety incident experienced by a user. Registration information that indicates that a plurality of safety devices of different types are to be registered with the user is initially obtained. Sensor data from the plurality of safety devices of different types are obtained. An occurrence of a particular type of safety incident experienced by the user is then selected from among a plurality of types of safety incidents. The selection may be based at least on the obtained sensor data and the obtained registration information. A communication is then provided to another user to indicate the occurrence of the particular type of safety incident experienced by the user in response to selecting the occurrence of the particular type of safety incident.
