Provided are a method for requesting, by a user equipment (UE), system information in a wireless communication system and a device supporting the same. The method may include: initiating a random access procedure; requesting system information from a base station (BS) in the initiated random access procedure; receiving, from the BS, a broadcast indication indicating that the requested system information is broadcast in the initiated random access procedure after requesting the system information from the BS; and stopping the initiated random access procedure.

DCI formats for non-anchor operations

According to certain embodiments, a method for use in a network node comprises broadcasting system information to wireless devices. The system information indicates a set of configured random access carriers. The method further comprises selecting, from the set of configured random access carriers, a random access carrier to be used by a wireless device when performing random access transmissions, and indicating the selected random access carrier to the wireless device.

Rach procedures in new radio-unlicensed (NR-U)

Systems and methods related to UL communications in a wireless network are provided. A UE receives an indication of a plurality of TXOPs for a RACH procedure from a BS. In an embodiment, the UE starts a timer after either successfully transmitting a random access message to the BS or failing to succeed in any of the TXOPs. In another embodiment, the UE starts the timer at a pre-agreed time after one of the TXOPs, regardless of whether the random access message has been successfully transmitted yet or not. In another embodiment, the UE receives as part of a RACH response an indication of whether the RACH response is split into multiple parts. If the UE does not locate an identifier corresponding to the UE in the RACH response, the UE checks for the indication and, if present, listen for the next RACH response identified from the indication.

Message repetition for random access procedure based on a random access procedure format

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may attempt to connect to a base station using a random access procedure. During the random access procedure, the base station may transmit control information and data associated with a random access response (RAR) during an RAR window. The UE may identify a channel quality and may transmit a random access request of a first type to the base station. The base station may receive the random access request and transmit repeating instances of the control information or the data, or both, based on identifying that the random access request is of the first type. The UE may use soft-combining to increase the likelihood of successfully decoding the control information and the data associated with the RAR, and likewise may increase the likelihood of successfully receiving the RAR from the base station.

Information reporting method and apparatus, and bandwidth part based operating method and apparatus

An information reporting method includes: determining that a random access problem occurs; and reporting, to a base station, a bandwidth part (BWP) on which the random access problem occurs. By determining that the random access problem occurs and reporting the BWP on which the random access problem occurs to the base station, the base station may determine the BWP on which the random access problem occurs.

Flexible message repetition for random access procedures

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling indicating a configuration for communicating to the UE a random access response of a random access procedure. The configuration may indicate a first quantity of instances of control information associated with the random access response in a set of slots and a portion of the time window configured for the first quantity of instances. The UE may monitor the set of slots for instances of the control information and receive a second quantity of instances of the control information for the UE in a first subset of slots of the set of slots. The second quantity of instances may be less than the first quantity of instances. The UE may combine the instances of the control information from the first subset of slots and decode the random access response based on combining the instances.
