This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, for measurement and reporting procedures associated with a sidelink positioning reference signal (SL-PRS). In one aspect, a first user equipment (UE), which may function as a sidelink anchor node, may transmit an SL-PRS to a second UE in accordance with a slot format or structure that is dedicated for SL-PRS transmissions. The first UE may select resources for the transmission of the SL-PRS via sensing and exclusion or using a set of resources that are dedicated for SL-PRS transmissions. The second UE may receive the SL-PRS and use the SL-PRS to acquire positioning information, in accordance with an observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA)-based positioning method, or may transmit a second SL-PRS to the first UE to facilitate acquisition of positioning information at the first UE, in accordance with a round-trip-time (RTT)-based positioning method.

A method for performing wireless communication by a first device and a device for supporting same are provided. Aspects relate to mechanisms for measuring the interference on the sidelink for use in calculating the channel quality indicator (CQI) in channel state information (CSI) reporting. Channel state information-interference measurement (CSI-IM) resources on which a sidelink device may measure the interference may be located outside of a bandwidth allocated for the transmission of a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) and/or inside of the allocated bandwidth. The sidelink device may measure respective interference values on one or more CSI-IM resources, identify one or more CQI(s) based on the measured interference value(s) and transmit one or more CSI reports including the one or more CQIs to another sidelink device.

The present disclosure provides a method for transmitting and receiving a sidelink positioning reference signal and a terminal. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for sensing sidelink resources. In a method for communication, in accordance with receiving, at a terminal device from a network device, a first higher layer parameter indicating that partial sensing is enabled for the terminal device, the terminal device determines a candidate resource for performing a sidelink transmission in a target slot. The terminal device determines, for the partial sensing, a sensing window with a configured time length before the target slot. The terminal device determines, in the sensing window, a set of slots based on the configured time length of the sensing window. The terminal device determines a reservation state of the candidate resource by monitoring the set of slots. With the embodiments of the present disclosure, a feasible partial sensing procedure is provided for a terminal device to perform a sidelink transmission in the 5G NR, and thus the performance of sidelink transmissions can be improved.

A transmitting user equipment comprising: means for generating assistance information for a network node. The network node provides a grant of resources for sidelink communications between the transmitting and at least one receiving user equipment. The receiving user equipment is configured to operate in a discontinuous reception mode comprising a discontinuous reception cycle with an active time and an inactive time. The assistance information comprises a plurality of elements indicative of characteristics of the sidelink communications and at least one of the plurality of elements comprises an indication of the discontinuous reception mode of the receiving user equipment.
