Electrothermic compositions
According to the invention there is provided an electrothermic composition comprising: a carbon component; a graphite component having a crystallinity of 99.9% and wherein the graphite is heat treated at a temperature of 2500° C. to 3000° C., and a binder, whereby the composition has a thermal coefficient of electrical resistance (TCR) of ±0.0001 to 0.0010 per ° C. over a temperature range of from about 20° C. to 60° C. in an airborne environment, wherein the ratio of the first conductive component and the second resistor component is selected between 10:1 to 1:10.
Temperature control element for anti-icing that matches heat loss characteristics of item being controlled
A deicing system may include one or more walkway cassettes, a temperature control element, and a control unit. Each walkway cassette may include a casing and a heat tracing; cable in good thermal contact with the casing. The temperature control element may include a comparatively smaller casing and a heat tracing cable in good thermal contact with the casing, and may exhibit similar heat loss characteristics to the walkway cassettes. The temperature control element may include a temperature sensor on a top surface of its casing, which may generate temperature data and send the temperature data to the control unit. The control unit may provide power to the temperature control element and the walkway cassette(s) in parallel based on the temperature data. The temperature control element may be placed in proximity to the walkway cassette(s), and may be exposed to substantially the same environmental conditions as the walkway cassettes.
MULTI-LAYER SOLID-STATE HEATING ELEMENT
A novel solid-state heating element is disclosed. The heating element comprises a plurality of heating layers comprised of a mixture of carbon and a polymer or plastic. The heating layers are disposed on or infused into a substrate. Each heating layer can be disposed on, or infused into, its own substrate, or the heating layers can be disposed on or infused into opposites sides of the same substrate. A radiating element can be disposed in proximity to one or both of the heating layers. The radiating element absorbs the radiation put out by the heating layer(s) and reradiates heat. A heat transfer fluid such as air or a liquid can be directed across the radiating element and/or other areas of the heating element to transfer heat from the heating element to another location.
Heated floor panels
A heater panel includes a core and a heater/dielectric layer including a positive thermal coefficient (PTC) heater layer between a pair of dielectric layers. A structural facing is included, wherein the heater/dielectric layer is bonded directly between the core and the structural facing. A second structural facing can be bonded to the core opposite the heater/dielectric layer. An impact layer can be bonded to the structural facing, e.g., the first structural facing described above, opposite the heater/dielectric layer. The heater layer can be formed by direct writing a heating element pattern onto a dielectric layer bonded to the core.
A HEATING FLOOR PANEL FOR TRANSPORT MEANS
A floor panel (100) for transport means, in particular for trains, ships or boats, the floor panel (100) comprising a metal plate (1); at least one heating cable (2, 3) adapted to generate heat when it is crossed by electric current; a net (4) provided with a plurality of meshes (41); wherein said at least one heating cable (2, 3) is arranged between the net (4) and the metal plate (1). wherein said at least one heating cable (2, 3) is in contact with the metal plate (1).
Pedestal Mounted Paver Heating System
Some deck or patio areas constructed of pavers mounted on adjustable pedestal supports must remain snow and ice free on their top surfaces. The pedestal-mounted paver heating system is designed to allow easy installation of electric heating cable that is positioned against the bottom surface of pavers so that heat generated by the cable is efficiently transferred up into the pavers to raise their temperature enough to prevent the accumulation of snow and ice on their top surfaces.
Panel and a heating system
A panel comprising a heat providing layer is presented. The panel includes panel coupling means arranged for coupling the panel to adjacent panels. Longitudinal grooves are arranged in the panel along the whole length of the panel. In order to provide heat, at least one electrical end connector is arranged at one or more end panel coupling means. The electrical end connectors are arranged for being electrically connected to the heat providing layer, for being at least partly electrically conductive, and for at least partly protruding from the one or more end panel coupling means, thereby providing an electrical connection between the heat providing layer of the panel and a corresponding heat providing layer of at least one adjacent panel coupled to the panel. The invention also concerns a heating system comprising such a panel, the electrical end connector, and a method for installing such a heating system.
Grooved floor underlayment for radiant heat
Disclosed is a floor underlayment system and method for radiant heat, comprising: one half inch tile or other floor underlayment board, a series of grooves cut into the tile or other floor underlayment board, electric resistance heating cable inserted into the series of grooves cut into the tile or other floor underlayment board, and sensor wires inserted into the series of grooves cut into the tile or other floor underlayment board.
