Buck-Boost Converter
A buck-boost power converter is operable in a first mode (step-down) or in a second mode (step-up). The power converter has an inductor, a flying capacitor, a network of six switches and a driver adapted to drive the network of switches with a sequence of states. Depending on the mode of operation the sequence of states comprises at least one of a first state and a second state. In the first state the ground port is coupled to the second port via two paths, a first path comprising the flying capacitor and the inductor, and a second path comprising the flying capacitor while bypassing the inductor. In the second state the first port is coupled to the second port via a path that includes the inductor and the ground port is coupled to the first port via a path that includes the flying capacitor while bypassing the inductor.
LIGHTING APPARATUS
A lighting apparatus includes a bridge circuit, a current source, a first LED module, a second LED module and a switch. The bridge circuit is used for rectifying an input AC power to generate a DC power. The current source receives the DC power to generate a driving current. The first LED module emits a first light of a first color temperature. The second LED module emits a second light of a second color temperature. The switch is coupled to the current source to change at least a resistance parameter corresponding to a current ratio between the first LED module and the second LED module to generate a mixed light of a mixed color temperature.
LIGHTING APPARATUS
A lighting apparatus includes a bridge circuit, a current source, a first LED module, a second LED module and a switch. The bridge circuit is used for rectifying an input AC power to generate a DC power. The current source receives the DC power to generate a driving current. The first LED module emits a first light of a first color temperature. The second LED module emits a second light of a second color temperature. The switch is coupled to the current source to change at least a resistance parameter corresponding to a current ratio between the first LED module and the second LED module to generate a mixed light of a mixed color temperature.
Interface expander circuit for light emitting diode (LED) driver circuits
An expander circuit may be configured to control a plurality of driver circuits for driving light emitting diodes (LEDs). The expander circuit may comprise a bus interface circuit configured to receive control signals from a processor over a communication bus, and a plurality of modulation signal generators configured to generate modulation signals based on the control signals. The expander circuit may be configured to provide the modulation signals to the plurality of driver circuits for driving the LEDs.
Interface expander circuit for light emitting diode (LED) driver circuits
An expander circuit may be configured to control a plurality of driver circuits for driving light emitting diodes (LEDs). The expander circuit may comprise a bus interface circuit configured to receive control signals from a processor over a communication bus, and a plurality of modulation signal generators configured to generate modulation signals based on the control signals. The expander circuit may be configured to provide the modulation signals to the plurality of driver circuits for driving the LEDs.

Power conversion device for supplying a load with a PWM signal, comprising an inductive filter having at least an output configured to be connected to the load, the device comprising: a power conversion module supplied by an input voltage and configured for providing a plurality of output signals wherein one of the plurality of output signals is supplied to the filter; a conversion ratio control stage coupled to the power conversion module; and a controller configured to: determine a requested conversion ratio based on the input voltage and a target reference voltage; and based on the requested conversion ratio, control the conversion ratio control stage to operate in either a first operating mode, whereby the power conversion module provides the output signals in accordance with a first conversion ratio, or a second operating mode, whereby the power conversion module provides the output signals in accordance with a second conversion ratio.

The present invention relates to a drive device for an illuminating load, an illumination device, a lighting system and a method for controlling the lighting system, wherein the drive device is connected between the illuminating load and a power adapter device for power supply, wherein the drive device comprises a control unit, wherein the control unit is configured to adjust the impedance of the drive device according to an electric output signal measured from the illuminating load so as to accordingly adjust the output voltage of the power adapter device and thereby to adjust the electric output signal for the illuminating load.

SOLID STATE LIGHT SOURCE DRIVER ESTABLISHING BUCK OR BOOST OPERATION
A solid state light source driver circuit that operates in either a buck convertor or a boost convertor configuration is provided. The driver circuit includes a controller, a boost switch circuit and a buck switch circuit, each coupled to the controller, and a feedback circuit, coupled to the light source. The feedback circuit provides feedback to the controller, representing a DC output of the driver circuit. The controller controls the boost switch circuit and the buck switch circuit in response to the feedback signal, to regulate current to the light source. The controller places the driver circuit in its boost converter configuration when the DC output is less than a rectified AC voltage coupled to the driver circuit at an input node. The controller places the driver circuit in its buck converter configuration when the DC output is greater than the rectified AC voltage at the input node.
