ARC WELDING DEVICE AND METHOD
20180001414 · 2018-01-04 ·

A plasma ejection unit (21) of an arc welding device includes a plasma torch (26), a copper plate (27), a container (28), and a gas supplying unit (29). Plasma gas inside the container (28) is pressurized by argon gas supplied from the gas supplying unit (29), and ejected from first to eighth ejection ports. The plasma gas ejected from the first to eighth ejection ports is concentrated in a concentration area (CA) between vehicle body plates (16-17) to form through holes (40) in the vehicle body plates (16-17), and is separated. The air pressures, in eight areas, of the plasma gas reaching a vehicle body plate (18) are approximately one-eighth of the air pressure of the plasma gas in the concentration area (CA). Accordingly, while the through holes (40) are formed in the vehicle body plates (16-17), no through hole is formed in the vehicle body plate (18).

Method for exhaust gas abatement under reduced pressure and apparatus therefor

The present invention provides an energy-efficient method and apparatus that can achieve exhaust gas abatement with a minimum use of diluent nitrogen gas. More specifically, the present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for exhaust gas abatement under reduced pressure, in which an exhaust gas supplied from an exhaust gas source via a vacuum pump is decomposed by heat of a high-temperature plasma under a reduced pressure.

PLASMA DEVICE FOR TREATING EXHAUST GAS

The present inventive concept relates to a device for treating an exhaust gas, and more particularly, to a plasma device capable of, even when connected to a vacuum pump, extending a lifetime of an electrode of a plasma torch. In the plasma device according to the present inventive concept, since an orifice is installed in a connection unit for connection with a vacuum pump to prevent a decrease in pressure of the vacuum pump, a pressure of a plasma reaction unit including the plasma torch of the plasma device can be maintained similar to normal pressure, thereby reducing the wear of a tungsten electrode in the plasma torch to extend a lifetime of the electrode.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IONIZING A SURFACE

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for ionizing a surface. In one implementation, an ionization source may include a microhollow cathode plasma or micro cavity plasma (MCP)-based ion source having a cavity and generating a plasma. A gas stream may pass through the cavity and transport the plasma. The source may further include one or more conductive electrodes located downstream from the MCP and configured to have a potential relative to the MCP such that positive and negative ions included in the plasma are carried through the electrodes by the gas stream. In another implementation, a mixer may mix a dopant (e.g. water) with the gas stream (e.g. air) entering the discharge. The disclosure also relates to a surface ionization probe.

A hydrogen jet system includes an evacuated recirculation duct, with a pump to circulate gas around the recirculation duct and a control nozzle to form a jet of gas; means to provide hydrogen gas into the duct; and an electrical device to provide energy into the jet of gas so as to form hydrogen atoms. The jet of gas is arranged to pass through a hollow electrode shell defining opposed apertures that are aligned with the jet of gas; and a target electrode is arranged beyond the electrode shell and also aligned with the jet of gas, so that hydrogen atoms would impact with the target electrode. The electrode shell and the target electrode are each connected to an external electrical terminal. The electrode shell and the target electrode may each define heat exchange channels to remove heat energy during operation.
