The casing of an electronic control device includes a casing-side contact surface in contact with the end of a printed-circuit board. A cover includes a cover-side contact surface holding the end of the printed-circuit board together with the casing-side contact surface by being in contact with the end of the printed-circuit board. In the printed-circuit board, a held portion held between the casing-side contact surface and the cover-side contact surface is provided with a through-hole via.

Power adapter for electronic devices

A power adapter for powering portable electronic devices is disclosed. The modifications and enhancements to the power adapter can reduce or eliminate the need for adhesives, flexible circuitry, and/or wiring. The power adapter includes multiple guide rails used to guide a circuit board (carrying components) to electrical springs. The electrical springs provide not only an electrical coupling, but also a mechanical coupling. As a result, wiring and/or adhesives is not required. Additionally, a cap is secured to the enclosure through melting part of the cap by, for example, ultrasonic welding without causing damage to the circuit board, as welding location(s) is/are in locations away from the electrical springs and other sensitive components. The power adapter further includes a connector connected to the circuit board. During assembly, the circuit board can pivot in three dimensions during assembly to align the connector with the cap.

CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLY FOR A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A circuit board assembly includes a circuit board and an electrical connector having a connector housing holding contacts in a contact array. The connector housing has a mating end configured to be mated with a mating electrical connector in a mating direction. The electrical connector has cables terminated to the contacts and extending from a cable end. A connector mount is used to locate the electrical connector relative to the circuit board. A bracket is coupled to the mounting surface of the circuit board. A biasing member is coupled to the bracket and the mounting feature and is compressible along a compression axis parallel to the mating direction to allow the electrical connector to float in the mating direction relative to the circuit board.

Power supply device and conductive spring contact thereof

A power supply device includes a housing, a circuit board and a conductive spring contact. The housing has a receiving structure. The circuit board is disposed in the housing. The conductive spring contact is disposed in the receiving structure and includes a base portion, a contact portion and a curved portion. The contact portion is connected to the base portion and is bent relative to the base portion. The contact portion extends between the circuit board and a wall portion of the receiving structure, and the contacts the circuit board. The curved portion is connected to the contact portion and abuts against the wall portion.

EMC HOUSING

An electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) housing having a first part (2) and a second part (3) for forming an enclosure when fitted together. The first and second parts (2, 3) include first and second interface surfaces (4, 5), respectively, for compressing a gasket (9) interposed between the interface surfaces (4, 5) when the first and second parts are fitted together. At least one of the first and second interface surfaces (4, 5) includes a plurality of undercut regions (7) for reducing compression of the gasket (9) in the region when the first and second parts (2, 3) are fitted together.

Electronic Device with Sealed Housing

An improved ECU for a motor vehicle comprises a housing that includes a top portion and a bottom portion each with an associated gasket. A printed circuit board (PCB) is enclosed between the housing portions. The gaskets provide seals between the housing, portions and respective sides of the PCB and apply balanced forces to each side to minimize strain on the PCB. One or both gaskets may be electromagnetic compliance gaskets.

CONTAINERS HAVING A MECHANICAL TOLERANCE COMPENSATORY ELEMENT
20220346251 · 2022-10-27 · ·

A container that has a mechanical tolerance compensatory element includes a housing, an electronic assembly, a cover, and an attachment member. The housing defines an electronic assembly recess. The electronic assembly is disposed within the electronic assembly recess and contacts the housing. The cover is attached to the housing, has a center, and defines an attachment member portion, a slot, and a first projection. The slot is disposed between the attachment member portion and the center of the cover. The first projection extends into the electronic assembly recess and contacts the electronic assembly such that the electronic assembly is retained between the housing and the cover. The attachment member is disposed at the attachment member portion defined by the cover and attaches the cover to the housing.

Electronic Control Unit with Slide-In Printed Circuit Board
20230062275 · 2023-03-02 ·

An improved electronic control unit for a motor vehicle comprises a printed circuit board in a one-piece bucket-style housing. The printed circuit board includes a heat-producing electrical component, and the housing includes a heat sink. During assembly of the electronic control unit, the printed circuit board is slid into the housing through an opening in the housing and along a pair of side rails. At the end of the side rails opposite the opening, there is a ramp that lifts the PCB towards the top wall of the housing, thus allowing the electrical component to thermally couple with the heat sink.

Electrical Element with Clearance-Free Fixation of a Plate Member

An electrical element includes a plate member, a first housing part having a plate insertion section adapted to guide an insertion of the plate member along an insertion direction into a mounting position of the plate member at the first housing part, and a second housing part having a locking element forming a locking with a counter locking element of the first housing part. The second housing part has a latching element engaging a counter latching element of the plate member. The latching element and the counter latching element form a latching in an engaged state.
