HEAT REMOVAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH AUTOMATED FIRE SUPPRESSION FOR DATA CENTERS
20220408605 · 2022-12-22 ·

In an open-loop heat removal system for a building such as a data center or a home, cool air is supplied to the building by a chilling unit and hot air is expelled from the building without recycling, recirculating, or re-cooling the hot air. For fire suppression, the system receives temperature reading(s) from temperature sensor(s) and determines whether any temperature reading reaches or exceeds a temperature that indicates presence of a fire. If so, a louver positioned over an inlet module is automatically or programmatically closed, shutting off air supply to the building. The system determines whether the building is under a negative pressure internally. If not, an exhaust fan at the outlet of the building is turned on to create a negative pressure internally. The system determines whether an oxygen level of the building indicates that the fire has been contained. If not, a sprinkler system is activated.

Pallet interface for data center and rack information handling systems

A data center, a rack information handling system (RIHS) delivery kit, and a method provide for removing an RIHS from and delivering an RIHS to a data center. The data center includes an enclosure having a raised floor and a lateral opening. The lateral opening has a bottom edge that is aligned with the raised floor in order to transfer a rack information handling system (RIHS) through the lateral opening for a selected one of: (i) removing the RIHSs from the raised floor; and (ii) delivering the RIHS to the raised floor. The data center includes a pallet interface coupled to or integrated into an exterior edge of the raised floor and vertically presented to abut and engage a lateral edge of a roll-off rack shock pallet that supports the RIHS during transport.

Systems, devices, and methods of protecting sensitive equipment against vibrations, mechanical shocks, and earthquakes. A support device includes a lower fixed or non-moving frame, and an upper movable frame. The two frames are connected via four dampers, at or near their four corners; and also by four generally-vertical cables or wires that together with the supported device operate as an inverted pendulum or an upside-down pendulum in response to incoming vibrations or applied forces. The dampers, as well as the inverted pendulum created by the cables, dissipate and absorb vibration energy and mechanical shocks. Optionally, the entirety of the support device has not more than four dampers. Optionally, the entirety of the support device has or not more than eight dampers, wherein four of the eight dampers are not connected to the vertical cables, and four other of the eight dampers are connected to lower ends of the four vertical cables.

An electronic equipment rack comprises a frame comprising a plurality of horizontal portions welded to a plurality of vertical portions, and a plurality of weld studs on surfaces of at least one of one or more of the plurality of vertical portions and one or more of the plurality of horizontal portions. One or more additional portions are attached to the frame via one or more of the plurality of weld studs.

SERVER INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM SECURITY BEZEL

A server information handling system is secured by a bezel that couples to an access location, such as an air vent at a front or rear face of a housing. The bezel includes a security structure having a lock and configured to couple directly at the front face or with a bezel extension at the rear face so that the server information handling system can use the same bezel with both a front face or rear face rack mount. The bezel has a lock integrated with the security structure, an air filter that fits over the security structure to filter air flowing into the housing, and a filter brace that captures the air filter by coupling to the security structure over the air filter. The filter brace attaches and detaches at the security structure when the security structure locks a server information handling system housing so that the air filter can be changed while the housing remains secure.
