GAS MONITORING DEVICE
An animal emission monitoring device for positioning on cattle, the animal emission monitoring device comprising a snout member comprising a sensor unit for detecting the quantity of methane emissions and a positioning means for positioning the device on the head of an animal such that the snout member locates the sensor unit over the nostril of the animal.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FORMULATING RUMINANT DIETS
Embodiments of a system and method for formulating an adjusted diet and/or a dietary supplement for a ruminant are disclosed. The adjusted diet and/or dietary supplement are formulated to mitigate an amino acid deficiency of the ruminant’s unaltered diet and provide the ruminant with an amino-acid balanced diet. Embodiments of a system and method of administering the adjusted diet and/or dietary supplement are also disclosed. In some embodiments, a computer system or other computing device can be used to implement part or all of the formulation methods and/or the diet administration methods.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERY OF SUBSTANCES TO ANIMALS
The invention provides a delayed release dosage form and a bolus configured for administration to an animal, wherein said dosage form and said bolus is configured to release a hydrophobic substance to the animal over a period of time. Preferably the hydrophobic substance is a haloform. Also provided is the use of the delayed release dosage form or bolus of the invention to reduce methane production in a ruminant animal. Also provided is the method of manufacturing a bolus of the invention.
Improved Feed Block Supplements for Livestock Health and Methane Reduction
The subject invention provides compositions and methods for feeding livestock animals and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from livestock animals. The compositions comprise one or more beneficial microorganisms and/or growth by-products thereof, as well as one or more nutritive mineral components. In certain embodiments, the composition is formulated as a compressed mineral assembly, such as a salt lick or mineral lick, which, when made available to a livestock animal, can be ingested by the livestock animal.
ANIMAL FEED SUPPLEMENT AND METHOD
A premix is disclosed. The premix includes a nitrate compound and salts thereof in the amount of greater than about 50% by weight of the premix. The premix also includes vitamins and trace minerals. The premix is formulated for use in at least one of a gestation or lactation phase of an animal and in an amount of less than about five percent by weight (5.0 wt %) inclusion per metric ton of the premix. A supplement for an animal feed for feeding during at least one of an animal's gestation phase and/or lactation phase is also disclosed. A method for feeding an animal is also disclosed.
METHOD FOR INCREASING RATE AND EXTENT OF FIBER DIGESTION IN RUMINANTS
A method for treating a forage to increase digestibility by a ruminant comprises providing a forage for a ruminant comprising a level of ammonia that is from 0.0% to about 1.4% of dry matter (wt/wt). An alkali is applied at a dosage of from about 0.25% to about 0.75% of dry matter (wt/wt) to the forage. At least one exogenous carbohydrase enzyme is applied to the forage after application of the alkali and the forage is subsequently fed to the ruminant.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR HYDROPONICALLY SPROUTED CEREAL GRAINS AS A MECHANISM FOR LOWERING ENTERIC METHANE EMISSION AND IMPROVING RUMINANT FEED EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE
Processes and methods for hydroponically sprouted cereal grains disclose as a mechanism for lowering enteric methane emission and improving ruminant feed efficiency and ruminant performance by administering to a ruminant a feed ration having at least one feed component comprising one or more hydroponically sprouted cereal grains.
ADSORBATES
The present invention relates to storage stable adsorbates of 3-nitrooxypropanol and derivatives thereof as well as to the production of such adsorbates.
Feed supplement
The present invention relates to a feed supplement or a food supplement which comprises a resin acid based composition comprising over 10% (w/w) resin acids for use in in the prevention of intestinal disorders. The invention further relates to a use of the feed supplement or the food supplement and a feed composition or a food composition comprising the feed supplement or the food supplement, respectively.
Use of tall oil fatty acid
The present invention relates to use of a tall oil fatty acid in enhancing rumen fermentation and/or lowering rumen methane production. The invention further relates to use of a feed supplement and a feed composition comprising tall oil fatty acid.
