Ultrasonic methods for diagnosis and treatment of stroke
RE046614 · 2017-11-28 · ·

A medical diagnostic method, system and related equipment particularly adapted to diagnose disorders of the blood circulation serving the head and neck, and especially the brain. A preferred use of the system is early, rapid, accurate, diagnosis of stroke, especially whether the stroke is due to blockage of a blood vessel or leakage from the blood vessel.

Fitness monitoring device with user engagement metric functionality

Methods, apparatuses, and systems are provided for interacting with a user to promote engagement with a fitness monitoring device configured to measure a fitness parameter of the user, which may include determining, by one or more processors in at least one of the fitness monitoring device or a device in communication with the fitness monitoring device, that user engagements with the fitness monitoring device have occurred on multiple occasions, in which each user engagement produces at least one measurement of the fitness parameter; receiving, by the one or more processors, information indicating a level of engagement metric for the user based, at least in part, on multiple detected the multiple user engagements with the fitness monitoring device; and generating, by the one or more processors and based on the level of engagement metric, a notification containing information relating to at least a level of user engagement with the fitness monitoring device or the fitness parameter.

Tracking movement of objects and notifications therefor

Improved approaches for monitoring status of articles being shipped are disclosed. The monitoring can produce notifications to interested parties. The notifications typically contain status information pertaining to the articles being shipped. Alternatively, interested parties can gain access to status information pertaining to the articles being shipped via a website. According to one embodiment, the status information includes at least position (location) information and shipping conditions information.

Method and system for tracking and monitoring assets

Improved approaches for tracking and monitoring status of articles are disclosed. The monitoring can produce notifications to interested parties. The notifications typically contain status information pertaining to the articles being tracked. Alternatively, interested parties can gain access to status information pertaining to the articles being tracked via a website. According to one embodiment, the status information includes at least position (location) information and shipping conditions information. Also disclosed are improved approaches for monitoring real time status information impacting inventory management of a company and/or its partners. Adverse changes in the status information of specific items can be identified in real time, and changes implemented as needed.

PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING METHODS

A method of monitoring a subject includes detecting subject head motion via a microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensor associated with a device worn by the subject, such as a device worn on a region of the head or a headset attached to an ear. The head motion information from the MEMS sensor is processed to determine subject head displacement relative to an origin and/or to identify footstep information, and the processed head motion information is transmitted to a remote device. Processing the head motion information from the MEMS sensor may be performed via at least one processor associated with the device worn by the subject and/or via a second device in telemetric communication with the MEMS sensor. The method may include processing head motion information from the MEMS sensor to determine if the subject has fallen down and/or is not moving.

Chest compression monitor with rotational sensing of compressions for discrimination of CPR movement from non-CPR movement

A chest compression monitor for measuring the depth of chest compressions achieved during CPR. A sensor of the chest compression monitor is disposed within its housing such that compression of the housing due to CPR compressions, and its resultant deformation, is detected by the sensor and used by the control system as the starting point for calculating chest compression depth based on an acceleration signal indicative of the downward displacement of the chest.

Apparatus, systems, and methods for measuring environmental exposure and physiological response thereto

Apparatus, systems, and methods for measuring environmental exposure and physiological response thereto are provided. A monitoring apparatus worn by a subject includes a physiological sensor that detects physiological information from the subject, an environmental exposure sensor that detects at least one airborne analyte in a vicinity of the subject, and a processor. The processor processes signals produced by the environmental exposure sensor and calculates a volumetric concentration of the least one airborne analyte. In addition, the processor process signals produced by the at least one physiological sensor to determine a physiological response of the subject to the at least one airborne analyte. The apparatus also includes a motion sensor and the processor calculates a distance traveled by the subject via signals produced by the motion sensor and calculates a volume of air to which the subject has been exposed using the distance traveled by the subject.

Apparatuses and methods are provided for automatically determining which type of resuscitation treatment is most appropriate for a patient. Methods are provided that include the following. One or more time domain signal measurements are transformed into frequency domain data representative of a frequency content of the one or more time domain signal measurements. The frequency domain data is processed to identify peaks. For each of the peaks, for each of multiple points in time, multiple parameters of the peak are determined. Based on the multiple parameters of the peaks for each of the multiple points in time, a trajectory is determined. The determined trajectory is analyzed in determining a recommended type of resuscitation treatment. An output indication is provided of the recommended type of resuscitation treatment.
