A cover is hinged about a first pivoting axis and the cover is kept closed on the base part by an actuator. An intermediate panel is rotatable with respect to the cover and the base part about a second pivot axis, when the container is open, between a closed usage position where the inner edge of the intermediate panel is lowered onto the base part around the cosmetic product to keep the product within the housing, and an inclined open position. The actuator includes two independent parts, at least one first part being supported exclusively by the intermediate panel.
