The handheld computing device can receive a notification message from a first external device over a communication network, the notification message containing location information for accessing a specific image, the location information indicating an internet-address of the specific image, access the specific image by using the location information, display the specific image on the screen, and perform an image editing option on the screen to edit the displayed specific image based on the application stored in the memory. Also, the image editing option can include a selection function to determine a portion of the specific image to be edited by selecting at least one position of an upper left corner and a lower right corner of an expandable window on the displayed specific image.
