Disclosed herein is an apparatus for driving rear-wheels of an environment-friendly vehicle. The apparatus for driving rear-wheels may include: a rear-wheel driver including a first motor and a second motor configured to respectively drive first and second rear wheels; a rear-wheel reducer configured to decelerate drive forces of the first and second motors and transmit the respective decelerated drive forces to the first and second rear wheels; a brake configured to releasably fix the rear-wheel reducer to a vehicle body; and a controller configured to control the rear-wheel driver, the rear-wheel reducer, and the brake. The rear-wheel reducer may include: a first planetary gear set disposed between an output end of the first motor and the first rear wheel; a second planetary gear set disposed between an output end of the second motor and the second rear wheel; and a ring gear coupled to the first and second planetary gear sets.

A drive system for a vehicle includes a first planetary device, a second planetary device directly coupled to the first planetary device, a first electromagnetic device at least selectively coupled to the first planetary device and including a first shaft, a second electromagnetic device directly coupled to the second planetary device and including a second shaft, and an output shaft coupled to the first planetary device. The first shaft and the second shaft are radially aligned with the first planetary device and the second planetary device. The output shaft is radially aligned with the first planetary device and the second planetary device.
INLINE ELECTROMECHANICAL VARIABLE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
A drive system includes a first planetary gear set selectively coupled to a first electromagnetic device, a second planetary gear set coupled to a second electromagnetic device and directly coupled to the first planetary gear set, an engine directly coupled to the first planetary gear set with a connecting shaft, and an output shaft coupled to the first planetary gear set. The first and second electromagnetic devices include a first shaft and a second shaft, respectively. The connecting shaft extends through the second electromagnetic device and through the second planetary gear set to the first planetary gear set. The first shaft, the second shaft, the first planetary gear set, the second planetary gear set, the connecting shaft, and the output shaft are radially aligned, forming a straight-thru transmission arrangement.

MULTI-SPEED TRANSMISSION AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME
The invention relates to a multi-speed transmission (10, 110), comprising a power split device (11; 111), an input shaft (12, 112) of the transmission (10, 110) being connected or connectable to prime mover (18, 118), an output shaft (13; 113), two shiftable sub-transmissions (14, 114; 15, 115), each providing a plurality of different gear ratios, and at least one rotating electric machine (16; 116, 116a), connected to said power split device (11; 111), wherein the two sub-transmissions (14, 114; 15, 115) can be connected alternatively to the output shaft (13, 113), and a control system (26; 126, 126a), connecting said electric machine (16; 116, 116a) with an electric battery (27; 127) and auxiliary electrical consumers (31, 131). The electric machine (16; 116, 116a) is connected to the power split device (11; 111) in a way that it allows to reduce torque value down to zero on either an input shaft (20; 120) of the first sub-transmission (14; 114) or on an input shaft (22; 122) of the second sub-transmission (15; 115) by applying different shaft torque levels, and the internal heat generation capacity of the electric machine (16; 116, 116a) exceeds the power capacity of the power line in said control system (26; 126, 126a).

A transmission for a motor vehicle has an input shaft, output shaft, first and second minus planetary gear sets, and first electric machine with a rotationally fixed stator and a rotatable rotor connectable to the input shaft. The first planetary gear set is stepped and has planet gears of a larger and a smaller effective diameter. In the first planetary gear set, first sun gear engages the larger planet gears and is connected or connectable to the rotor; second sun gear engages the smaller planet gears and is connected to a sun gear of the second planetary gear set and connectable to the input shaft; a carrier is connected to a ring gear of the second planetary gear set; and a ring gear is rotationally fixable. In the second planetary gear set, the carrier is connectable to the input shaft and the ring gear is connected to the output shaft.
