The present invention is a powertrain for a hybrid vehicle, comprising a driving/receiving machine (20), a thermal engine (10) and engine shaft (12), a speed variation device (14) including an engine epicyclic gear train (24) with a sun gear (34) and a crown (42) which are each connected to the engine shaft (12) by an engine controlled coupling (26, 28) and to a fixed part (40) of the powertrain by a one-way automatic coupling (30, 32). A planet gear carrier (46) and a machine epicyclic gear train (60) are arranged on a shaft (62) substantially parallel to engine shaft (12). The planet gear carrier comprises a sun gear (64), a crown (72), a planet gear carrier (68) and an epicyclic gear train controlled coupling (88). The speed variation device (14) comprises a device (94) for connecting/disconnecting electric machine (20) with machine epicyclic gear train (60).

Thus, a decrease in service life due to an increase in the number of times of the start of the electric oil pump is suppressed, and, when it is estimated that the vehicle load is large, the response of the start of a vehicle, which makes a driver experience a feeling of strangeness, is improved by starting the electric oil pump together with switching the vehicle into an ignition on state.

A vehicle power module assembly includes a modular manifold, an upper frame, and a plurality of power stages. The modular manifold includes a first base unit defining an inlet chamber, a second base unit defining an outlet chamber, a mid-unit defining one or more ports open to the chambers, and an upper unit defining a first set of slots and a second set of slots in fluid communication with the chambers via the ports. The plurality of power stages is housed within the frame and each of the power stages are spaced from one another to define inner channels therebetween. The chambers, channels, and ports are arranged with one another such that coolant flowing through the inner channels is in thermal communication with the power stages. The mid-unit may further include flow guides each sized to partially extend into one of the inner channels.

POWER-MODULE ASSEMBLY

A power inverter includes a plurality of power modules each having a power stage encased in a frame that defines an opening. The power modules are stacked in an array with the power stages being spaced apart to define coolant chambers interleaved with the power stages. The openings cooperate to form a manifold cavity extending along a length of the stack and in fluid communication with the chambers. A manifold insert is disposed in the cavity and extends through the openings.

The present invention relates to a powertrain for a motor vehicle comprising a thermal engine (10), a variable-speed transmission device (14) including an engine epicyclic gear train (26) with a sun gear (36) carried by a hollow shaft (42) and a crown gear (56) carried by a hollow shaft (62) surrounding hollow shaft (42) of the sun gear, the sun gear and the crown gear are each connected to shaft (12) of thermal engine (10) by a controlled clutch (28 and 30) and to a fixed part (48) of the vehicle by a one-way clutch (32 and 34), and a track (126 and 128) for motion transmission to a drive axle (16). According to the invention, the powertrain comprises a controlled connection (132) between the two hollow shafts (42 and 62).

Stator Cooling For Electric Machines

A vehicle electric machine may include a rotor. The rotor may cooperate with a stator including a core having an end face, and end windings extending from the end face. A cooling tunnel may encase the end windings, sealing against the end face at opposing sides of the end windings, and defining an inlet configured to receive coolant. The cooling tunnel may be arranged to contain the coolant during passage over the end windings and direct the coolant toward an outlet.
