Bulk adhesive transfer devices, knife gate valve devices, and related systems and methods
A bulk adhesive transfer system for transferring adhesive particulate to a melter includes a bulk supply and a transfer device, which may define a hopper of the melter, a mobile bin, and/or a buffer unit. The transfer device is configured to receive unmelted adhesive particulate from the bulk supply and then be selectively docked with the melter to transfer the adhesive particulate to the melter. The bulk adhesive transfer system may also include a knife gate valve device, which includes a plurality of ports that sequentially open and close to control flow of the adhesive particulate towards the melter. The bulk adhesive transfer system simplifies refilling operations for a melter while enabling continuous operation of the melter, even when the transfer device is undocked for removal from the melter.
Apparatus for providing liquid additive, method for assembling the apparatus and motor vehicle having the apparatus
An apparatus for providing liquid additive includes a tank for the liquid additive which has at least one heat distribution structure for distributing heat in a first tank section. A delivery unit is inserted into the tank for removing the liquid additive from the tank. The delivery unit includes at least one heating device. The heating device of the delivery unit and the heat distribution structure of the tank are connected to each other by at least one thermal coupling. A method for assembling the apparatus and a motor vehicle having the apparatus are also provided.
Pressure compensation and mixing device for fluid heaters
A pressure compensation and mixing device for a fluid heater has a mixing unit and a pressure compensation unit. The mixing unit is configured to mix a fluid guided in the mixing unit. The pressure compensation unit is configured to homogenize the pressure in the fluid. The mixing unit and the pressure compensation unit are integrated in a housing which allows for a compact structure. By the mixing unit, a specific homogenization of the temperature of the water heated by the fluid heater is achieved.
Pot heat exchanger
A raw gas collection system for collecting raw gas from a plurality of aluminium smelting pots is equipped with a plurality of branch ducts, each of which is arranged to channel a respective branch flow of raw gas from an aluminium smelting pot to a collection duct, which is common to and shared by the branch ducts. Each of said branch ducts is, near an outlet thereof, equipped with a curved section for aligning the branch flow with a flow direction of raw gas already present in the common collection duct, and a constriction for accelerating the branch flow through the branch duct outlet into the common collection duct. Furthermore, each of said branch ducts is equipped with a heat exchanger for removing heat from the respective branch flow of raw gas. The combined flow resistance of the constriction and the heat exchanger reduces the need for adjusting the respective branch flows using dampers, thereby reducing the power required to transport the raw gas.
Packaged air conditioning system having multiple utility connectivity
One aspect of this disclosure provides a packaged air conditioning & heating (PACH) system that comprises a housing, an air cooling system contained within the housing and an air heating system contained within the housing. A first utility access point is located on a first side of the housing and a second utility access point is located on a second side of the housing. The first and second utility access points provide multiple utility access connectivity for the air cooling and heating systems.
Method and apparatus for loading, melting and delivering fluid from a fluid delivery device
A fluid delivery device is provided. The fluid delivery device includes a melter having a loading chamber and a hopper disposed in communication with the loading chamber, the loading chamber having one or more heating elements. The hopper includes a second heating element. The melter also includes a container handling system for lifting a container a predetermined height and moving the container from a position remote of the melter to a position within the loading chamber. The container includes contents stored within. The heating elements heat the contents so that the contents may be received in the hopper. The hopper may continue to heat the contents to provide a fluid. The fluid may be discharged from the hopper by way of a pump assembly. A pressure of fluid may be regulated at the pump assembly.
Recirculating bath
A recirculating bath includes a reservoir for receiving a working liquid, a recirculating pump, and at least one thermal element. The recirculating pump and thermal element are located externally to the reservoir so that the reservoir has an unobstructed working space. The thermal element may be thermally coupled to the working liquid through an interior surface of the reservoir, or the working liquid may be circulated over the thermal element by the recirculating pump in a chamber external to the reservoir. The recirculating bath may also include a lid that provides access to the reservoir by pivoting on a latching hinge. When open, the lid may provide a working surface adjacent to the reservoir. The lid may also include a selector that unlatches the hinge so that the lid can be removed. The recirculating pump may be fluidically coupled to the reservoir via a manifold.
Systems, assemblies, and methods of reducing head loss in heating devices
Low head loss systems are detailed. The systems may include chambers having low impedance to water flow therethrough and repositionable gates or other valves within the chambers. The valves may direct water as a function of whether an associated heating device is active. At least some gates may incorporate poppet valves or other high-flow by-passes.
AUTOMATED FLUID HANDLING SYSTEM
Automated fluid handling system comprising a housing and two or more fluid handling units arranged as interchangeable modular components with an external fluidics section and an internal non fluidics section, and wherein the housing comprises a liquid handling panel with two or more of component positions for receiving said interchangeable modular components such that the external fluidics section is separated from the non fluidics section by the liquid handling panel.
ACCV and a method for manufacturing the same
An active clearance control valve (ACC Valve) includes a valve housing with a thermal shield provided externally to said housing, wherein said valve housing and said thermal shield have been integrally formed as one component. This may be achieved using additive manufacturing methods. Cooling channels and/or ribs may also be provided on or in the thermal shield.
