Cooling tower adjusting method and system
An adjusting method to adjust the liquid discharge operation from a collection tank of a cooling tower, comprising the steps of: checking an activation signal of a discharge solenoid valve (EV) of the tank; detecting a flow value of the liquid flowing between an inlet mouth and a discharge mouth of the collection tank to allow a discharge operation of the liquid contained in the tank, wherein said discharge operation is allowed in correspondence of a detection of a flow rate value of the liquid flowing between an inlet mouth and a discharge mouth of the collection tank at least equal to a reference threshold value and wherein said discharge operation is inhibited in correspondence of a detection of the liquid flow rate value that is null or lower than said reference threshold value.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING EXUDATES
A reduced pressure treatment system includes a porous pad positioned at a tissue site and a canister having a collection chamber, an inlet, and an outlet. The inlet is fluidly connected to the porous pad. A reduced pressure source is fluidly connected to the outlet of the canister to such that fluid from the tissue site may be drawn into the collection chamber. A hydrophobic filter is positioned adjacent the outlet to prevent liquid from exiting the collection chamber through the outlet. A baffle is positioned within the canister to create a tortuous path between the inlet and the outlet to prevent premature blocking of the hydrophobic filter.

Smart drain and method of control
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a drain system, including a sensor in communication with a reservoir and controller, uses algorithmic control of a drain valve to adjust the interval and duration of actuation of the drain valve to regulate a fluid level within the reservoir. In embodiments applying the drain system to a gas compressor system, the disclosed control algorithm enables the controller to prevent the loss of compressed gas through an open path out the drain and further to prevent condensate generated by operation of the compressor system from backing up in the reservoir and reentering the flow of compressed gas. The control algorithm adjusts the interval and period of actuation of the drain valve such that as operating conditions change the drain valve opens more or less frequently for longer or shorter periods in response to varying condensate load.
Ice maker
A stand alone ice making appliance or an ice maker within an appliance is provided including a water inlet, a water inlet valve disposed within the water inlet configured to allow water passage when in an open position and configured to prevent water passage when in a closed position, a reservoir in fluid communication with the water inlet, a water level sensor disposed in the reservoir, and a control unit in electrical communication with the water level sensor and the water inlet valve. The control unit is configured to calculate a fluid flow rate using the time between the water inlet valve opening and the water level sensor communicating when a first predetermined water level has been reached within the reservoir, and use the calculated flow rate to calculate a total water inlet valve open time to fill the reservoir to a second predetermined water level.
Automatic fluid container switching in a blood processing system
Systems and methods for determining when a fluid supply container of a blood processing apparatus becomes empty. The system uses a scale to monitor and detect when a fluid supply container is empty based on the rate of change of the container weight and whether the container weight is below a pre-established threshold, and a controller receives a signal from the scale and controls the operation of a pump to stop pumping when the fluid supply container is empty.
