Valve body with integral bypass
A valve body with an integral bypass includes a primary valve body portion defining a primary internal surface, the primary internal surface defining a primary bore extending through the primary valve body portion from a primary upstream end to a primary downstream end; and the bypass seamlessly integrated with the primary valve body portion, the bypass defining a bypass internal surface, the bypass internal surface defining a bypass bore, the bypass bore comprising a bypass upstream bore and a bypass downstream bore, the bypass upstream bore extending through the primary upstream end of the primary valve body portion, the bypass downstream bore extending through the primary downstream end of the primary valve body portion, the bypass internal surface seamlessly intersecting the primary internal surface at the primary upstream end and the primary downstream end.
Multi-port valve with multiple operation modes
A multi-port, multi-mode valve includes: a valve housing; multiple ports on the valve housing, a spacing between first and second ports being smaller than a spacing between third and fourth ports; and a stemshell positioned at least partly inside the valve housing, the stemshell having at least two channels configured for selectively coupling one or more of the ports to a selected at least other one of the ports.
IV Set System with Bypass Manifold
An intravenous (IV) set system comprising a primary IV set defining a primary flow line of the IV set system. The primary flow line can include multiple access points along its length and feeds to a merging fluid pathway proximate to the distal terminus of the primary IV set. At least one secondary IV set with corresponding flow lines can be separably joined to the primary IV set to cause the secondary flow lines to be in fluid communication with the primary flow line. At least one of the IV sets can have a unique set of uniform marking indicia to facilitate rapid identification of the IV sets from other IV sets within the IV set system. Such marked and identified primary and/or secondary IV sets can be allocated to specific medical functions and/or can be for use by specific medical personnel to thereby minimize risk of error in administration of an IV to a patient. The IV set system can further comprise a merging fluid pathway about a primary IV set.
Ball valve with pressure relief feature
A valve assembly includes a valve body defining a main flow pathway (28) and a bypass channel (52) for bypassing the main flow pathway. A ball (20) is located in the main flow pathway and is moveable between an open position and a closed position. When the ball is in the open position, an open pathway through the ball fluidly completes the main flow pathway to provide an ordinary flow, and when the ball is in the closed position the ball blocks the main flow pathway. A pressure relief feature (50) is disposed in the bypass channel (52), and the valve body further defines a pressure relief passage (62) comprising a clearance between an outer surface of the ball (20) and the valve body. The pressure relief feature (50) permits a relief flow from the bypass channel (52) through the pressure relief passage (62) around the ball (20), and to the outlet (24) to relieve excess pressure in the connecting inlet piping (22).
