Dual valve gas pressure equalization system and method
An aircraft gas transport system including a high pressure gas supply line having a supply valve, and an equilibrium gas line joined at junctions with the high pressure gas supply line upstream and downstream from the supply valve, and in flow communication with the high pressure gas supply line, the equilibrium gas line having an equilibrium valve and a flow restrictor, the equilibrium valve having an exit orifice and the flow restrictor being offset from the exit orifice of the equilibrium valve.
Adjustable ducts for cooling computing devices
An adjustable cooling duct for improved facility (e.g., data center) cooling is disclosed. In one embodiment, the cooling duct comprises a cylindrical flexible membrane (e.g., fabric) having a first annular end and a second annular end, and a cincture mechanism connected around the perimeter of the cylindrical flexible membrane between the first annular end and the second annular end. The cincture mechanism may be motorized and that may be controlled by a management computer based on pressure sensor readings. The cincture mechanisms may be automated for coordinated control of multiple ducts in parallel by the management computer based on environmental sensor readings to improve facility cooling.
ROTARY VALVE
A rotary valve capable of high flow rates, minimal pressure drop, and rapid actuation is presented. According to one aspect, the rotary valve is characterized by a unique pressure balancing system operating on the rotary spool of the valve to reduce side force caused by pressure at the flow ports. According to another aspect, the rotary valve is characterized by a unique internal shiftable blocking spool in response to a failure condition or a modulating signal. According to another aspect, a unique interface is provided for sealing a port of a rotary valve to an outer surface of a rotary spool. According to another aspect, the rotary valve is characterized by a unique interface provided for sealing a port to an outer surface of the rotary spool. According to another aspect, a rotary valve is characterized by a unique three-way three-or-more-position configuration. According to another aspect, a rotary valve is characterized by a unique four-port three-position configuration.
