Touchless, remotely activatable assembly for fluid flow regulation, related systems and methods
The invention includes an assembly for remotely controlling fluid flow between a fluid source, such as a water source, and an outlet that includes at least one electrically operable valve, such as an electromagnetically-actuatable valve, to be interposed between the fluid source and the outlet, the valve being actuatable between an open position, in which the source and the outlet are fluidly connected, and a closed position in which the source and the outlet are not fluidly connected; at least one actuator, such as a solenoid actuator, operably connected to the at least one valve for actuating the valve between the open and closed positions; a controller comprising a receiver for receiving a wireless signal, wherein the controller is operably connected to the actuator and capable of actuating the actuator upon receipt of a wireless signal by the receiver; and an activator device comprising (i) a user-activatable sensor for detecting a stimulus when the stimulus enters a detection zone and (ii) a transmitter that transmits the wireless signal upon activation of the sensor by a user to the receiver. In an embodiment, it may be desirable that the electrically operable valves are also mechanically actuatable or that one or more (additional) manually activatable valves in included in the assembly.
Gas valve with electronic valve proving system
Valve assemblies may be configured to perform a valve proving test as part of an operational cycle of a combustion appliance coupled to the valve assembly. The valve assembly may include a valve body having a fluid path, first and second valves situated in the fluid path, first and second valve actuators, and a pressure sensor in fluid communication with an intermediate volume of the fluid path between the first and second valves. A valve controller may monitor a measure related to a pressure in the intermediate volume. The valve controller may then output a signal if the measure related to the pressure in the intermediate volume meets and/or exceeds a threshold value, where the threshold value is determined based on a measure related to an initial pressure in the intermediate volume and a known test duration.
Device capable of pressurization and associated systems and methods
Exemplary embodiments are directed to devices, methods and systems capable of pressurization, generally involving a flow system that includes a pressurized reservoir, at least one pump including a pump control valve, an outlet port, a shut-off valve and a vent valve. The flow system is configured to be pressurized. The shut-off valve is disposed between the pressurized reservoir and the at least one pump. The vent valve is disposed between the at least one pump and the outlet port. The shut-off valve, the vent valve and the pump control valve of the at least one pump are configured to actuate in a coordinated manner to control a pressurization of the flow system. Exemplary embodiments are further directed to devices, methods and systems for column switching, generally including at least a first column, a second column and a column switching valve.
Gas cylinder valve
A valve for connection to a pressurized gas cylinder includes a housing including a gas cylinder aperture which is connectable to a gas cylinder, and a housing conduit which extends through the housing from the gas cylinder aperture to one or more inlet/outlet apertures so that the valve is capable of providing fluid communication between the gas cylinder through the housing conduit and the one or more inlet/outlet apertures. A flow control ball within the housing conduit is movable between open and closed positions. Ball seals have sealing surfaces corresponding to a shape of the flow control ball for substantially sealing the flow control ball in the housing conduit. Other features include components for mounting the ball seals though one of the inlet/outlet apertures; components for mounting a stem to the flow control ball including bearings; live ports; a tube which can be removably connectable from the rest of the housing; provision for receiving an EFV and/or a PRD in the valve housing; and at least one of the ball seals and stem bearings comprising polyetherimide or polyaryletherketone.
Redundant valve system
A redundant valve system to provide a regulated fluid flow includes a housing having an inlet at an inlet end which receives a pressurized fluid, and an outlet at an outlet end which provides the regulated fluid flow, a first piston assembly arranged in the housing having a first cavity, the first piston assembly configured to regulate the fluid flow, and a first fluid connection connected to the first cavity and to a point along the housing at the outlet end. The redundant valve system may further include a second piston assembly arranged in the housing downstream of the first piston assembly having a second cavity, the second cavity having a second fluid connection to a vent, an upstream valve to control the first fluid connection and control a position of the first piston assembly, and a downstream valve to control the second fluid connection and control a position of the second piston assembly.
Steam valve device and steam turbine plant
In the embodiment, a steam valve device has, a steam regulating valve, and an intermediate flow path connecting the main steam stop valve and the steam regulating valve. The main steam stop valve and the steam regulating valve respectively have: casings where flow paths are formed between horizontal inlet ports and outlet ports opened downward and valve seats are arranged in the flow paths; valve elements movable up and down in the casings; and valve rods for driving the valve elements. The valve rods extend upward, and they are pulled off upward in a direction to outside of the casings when opening the flow paths. The intermediate flow path changes the flow direction of main steam flowing out of the outlet port of the main steam stop valve from downward direction to horizontal direction to guide the main steam toward the outlet ports of the steam regulating valves.
Arrangement for handling a liquid medium
An arrangement for managing a liquid medium, such as water, combines a pressure-reducing valve with two backflow prevention valves. Both the pressure-reducing valve and the two backflow prevention valves may be integrated into a common housing, specifically with both backflow prevention valves in an inlet chamber of the housing, wherein the inlet chamber and an outlet chamber of the housing are either fluidly coupled or isolated from one another by the pressure-reducing valve depending on the outlet chamber pressure prevailing in the outlet chamber. In some instances, a manually actuatable shut-off valve may be integrated into the housing. The manually actuatable shut-off valve may selectively keep the pressure-reducing valve in a closed position or allow the automatic opening and closing of the pressure-reducing valve depending on the outlet chamber pressure prevailing in the outlet chamber.
