Semiconductor structures having a micro-battery and methods for making the same
The present disclosure provides an embodiment of an integrated structure that includes a first electrode of a first conductive material embedded in a first semiconductor substrate; a second electrode of a second conductive material embedded in a second semiconductor substrate; and a electrolyte disposed between the first and second electrodes. The first and second semiconductor substrates are bonded together through bonding pads such that the first and second electrodes are enclosed between the first and second semiconductor substrates. The second conductive material is different from the first conductive material.
Battery module printed circuit board assembly system and method
A battery module includes a lower housing and a plurality of battery cells. The plurality of battery cells are electrically coupled together to produce a voltage. The module also includes an assembly disposed over the battery cells and coupled to the lower housing. The assembly may include a lid and a plurality of bus bar interconnects mounted on the lid. The module also includes a printed circuit board (PCB) assembly disposed on and coupled to the assembly. The PCB assembly may include a PCB. The module also includes a cover disposed over and coupled to the lower housing to hermetically seal the battery module. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing the battery module.
Battery pack
The invention concerns a battery pack (1), comprising a plurality of electrically connected battery cells (2), wherein the battery cells (2) are substantially flat with two opposite sides (2a, 2b) and a peripheral edge (2c), and wherein the battery cells (2) are arranged side by side as to form a layered structure, and an electronic arrangement configured to monitor and control the battery cells (2). The invention is characterized in that the electronic arrangement comprises a plurality of individual electronic circuit units (30), each of which being associated with a corresponding battery cell (2), wherein each of the electronic circuit units (30) is configured to be capable of monitoring and controlling its corresponding battery cell (2), and wherein each electronic circuit unit (30) is arranged on a thin and flexible circuit carrying sheet (3) that is arranged at one of the sides (2a, 2b) of the corresponding battery cell (2). The invention also concerns a method for manufacturing of a battery pack (1).
Energy storage structures and fabrication methods thereof
Energy storage structures and fabrication methods are provided. The method include: providing first and second conductive sheet portions separated by a permeable separator sheet, and defining, at least in part, outer walls of the energy storage structure, the first and second surface regions of the first and second conductive sheet portions including first and second electrodes facing first and second (opposite) surfaces of the permeable separator sheet; forming an electrolyte receiving chamber, defined, at least in part, by the first and second surface regions, including: bonding the first and second conductive sheet portions, and the permeable separator sheet together with at least one bonding border forming a bordering frame around at least a portion of the first and second electrodes; and providing an electrolyte within the electrolyte receiving chamber, including in contact with the first and second electrodes, with the electrolyte being capable of passing through the permeable separator sheet.

This disclosure provides collector plates for an energy storage device, energy storage devices with a collector plate, and methods for manufacturing the same. In one aspect, a collector plate includes a body. One or more apertures extend into the body. The apertures are configured to allow a portion of a free end of a spirally wound current collector of a spirally wound electrode for an energy storage device to extend into the one or more apertures.

The present subject matter relates to a battery module for use in a vehicle. The battery module may include a housing, a plurality of battery cells disposed within the housing, and solid state pre-charge control circuitry that pre-charges a direct current (DC) bus that may be coupled between the battery module and an electronic component of the vehicle. Furthermore, the solid state pre-charge control circuitry may include solid state electronic components as well as passive electronic components.

A battery module includes a housing, a plurality of battery cells disposed in the housing, and a printed circuit board (PCB) assembly disposed in the housing. The PCB assembly includes a PCB and a shunt disposed across a first surface of the PCB. A second surface of the shunt directly contacts the first surface of the PCB, and the shunt is electrically coupled between the battery cells and a terminal of the battery module.
Electrochemical assay device and related methods
An electrochemical test device is provided having a base layer with a first electrode thereon and a top layer with a second electrode thereon. The two electrodes are separated by a spacer layer having an opening therein, such that a sample-receiving space is defined with one electrode on the top surface, the other electrodes on the bottom surface and side walls formed from edges of the opening in the spacer. Reagents for performing the electrochemical reaction are deposited on one of the electrodes and on the side walls of the sample-receiving space.
