Method for Installing a Pulling Head Assembly
A workstation and method for the installation of a pulling head assembly onto one or more conductors of a cabling system are provided. The workstation incorporates one or more of: a conductor clamp that holds the conductors of the cabling system in place during the installation of the pulling head assembly; a cutting guide having indicia marks that indicate the lengths to which to cut the conductors in order to achieve a staggered pattern of pulling eyes attached to the conductors in the pulling head assembly; a stripping tool that is used to remove a portion of the insulation from the terminal end of each conductor so that the end of the conductor may be inserted into the pulling eye; and a crimping tool that is used to crimp the pulling eyes onto the terminal ends of each of the conductors.
Process for reshaping and resizing grooves in optical fiber ferrules
A process and tool for reshaping and resizing grooves that were pre-formed in a pair of ferrules halves of an optical fiber ferrule. The pre-formed grooves are further subject to a separate, subsequent reshaping and resizing step using the tool and a gauge that may be a bare section of optical fiber or a pin. The ferrule halves are aligned, and using the pre-formed grooves as guides for the gauge optical fiber or gauge pin, the ferrule halves are compressed together with the gauge optical fiber or gauge pin therebetween, thereby reshaping and resizing the respective grooves on the ferrule halves. After reshaping and resizing, the resultant groove that is finally formed on each ferrule halve would be precisely shaped, sized and located with respect to the external alignment surface of each ferrule halve. The ferrule halves may be used to terminate an optical fiber cable.

Integrated systems facilitating wire and cable installations
Pulling eyes are provided with integrated wiring systems suitable for installing conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may include body portions that define interior cavities that are sized to snugly engage outside portions of the conductors or cables. The body portions are sized to be deformably crimped onto the outside portions of the conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may also include head portions joined to the body portions, with the head portions defining apertures for receiving a strength member for installing the conductors or cables. These apertures place the interior cavities in communication with the exteriors of the pulling eyes.

A terminal crimping apparatus includes a terminal supply device configured to supply a terminal chain member including a plurality of crimping terminals, a first mold including a first edge portion provided at one end of a supporting surface supporting the crimping terminals, a second mold configured to crimp the crimping terminal onto a wire by sandwiching the crimping terminal between the second mold and the supporting surface, and a terminal cutting member including a second edge portion. The terminal cutting member cuts a boundary with the crimping terminal in a link portion using the second edge portion.
Arrangement for electrically conductively connecting a contact piece to an electrical connector
An arrangement for electrically conductively connecting a cup shaped copper contact part to an electrical conductor that is made of a plurality of individual wires containing aluminum. The arrangement has a cup-shaped contact part, which includes a bottom and a cylindrical sleeve integrally connected to and projecting away from the bottom with tight contact of the sleeve to the conductor. The cup-shaped contact part is configured to be pushed onto the conductor until the end face of the conductor rests against the bottom of the contact part. At least one rotating tool is configured to be removably placed with sustained pressure, subsequently to the cup-shaped contact part, until the material of the conductor is softened due to the increased temperature of the material of the conductor due to friction to such an extent that it integrally connects to the contact part.
Electrolyte sensor and method and producing thereof
Provided is an electrolyte sensor that uses conductive elastomer electrodes. Examples of the intended analytes for sensor use include those found in urine, saliva, blood, feces, and spinal fluid, although other analytes exist for electrolyte detection. Conductive elastomer trace electrodes are separated by a channel or gap which can be bridged by an electrolyte and thereby complete an electrical circuit to an alarm or other circuitry. Channel or gap distances vary the level of electrical resistance associated with detecting certain analytes.
Cable connection structure manufacturing method
A cable connection structure manufacturing method includes: covering, by a first electrode, an end face of an electric cable, and covering, by a second electrode, a terminal of a substrate; plastically deforming the first electrode and the second electrode having substantially same hardness by first scrubbing in which the first electrode and the second electrode rub against each other at a first pressure and a first amplitude; polishing the first electrode and the second electrode by second scrubbing in which the first electrode and the second electrode rub against each other at a second pressure smaller than the first pressure and a second amplitude smaller than the first amplitude; and bonding the first electrode and the second electrode at a third pressure higher than the first pressure.
High-speed connector inserts and cables
High speed connector inserts and cables having improved heat conduction, high strength, and may be manufactured in a reliable manner. One example may provide a connector insert having several paths by which heat may be removed from circuitry in the cable insert. In one example, heat may be removed from one or more circuits by forming a thermal path between a circuit and a shield of the connector insert. Another path may include one or more pads on a side of an integrated circuit board that are soldered directly to the shield. A braiding surrounding a cable may be soldered or otherwise thermally connected to the shield. Another example may provide a cable having a braiding that includes one or more types of fibers, such as aramid fibers. Another example may provide for increased manufacturability by using a wire comb and a solder bar.
