Method of manufacturing recuperator air cells

A method of manufacturing a recuperator segment uses metal tubes deformed into air cells in a waved configuration. The air cells are stacked one to another to form a double skinned recuperator segment providing cold air passages through the respective air cells and hot gas passages through spaces between adjacent air cells.

Aerodynamically active stiffening feature for gas turbine recuperator

A recuperator disposed in the exhaust duct of a gas turbine engine includes a plurality of recuperator plates arranged in a spaced-apart relationship to define therebetween a plurality of interstices and fluid channels, the plurality of interstices adapted to direct therethrough at least one first stream received at a leading plate edge of the recuperator plates and the plurality of fluid channels adapted to direct therethrough at least one second stream to effect heat exchange between the at least one first stream and the at least one second stream. Each recuperator plate includes, formed at the leading plate edge thereof, a first concavity extending along the leading edge in a direction substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the plate. The first concavity extends transversely to a direction of the at least one first stream flowing over each recuperator plate.

A closed channel rotary regenerative air preheater includes element supporting baskets that have first heat transfer elements having first arches arranged in an alternating order with second heat transfer elements having second arches. Each of the first arches has a first apex and a concave segment extending therefrom and each of the second arches has a second apex and a convex segment extending therefrom. Each of the convex segments is nested in a respective one of the concave segments thereby defining a contact line therebetween which extends an entire length of the first heat transfer element and the second heat transfer element. Adjacent pairs of the contact lines define a closed passageway therebetween and between the first heat transfer element and the second heat transfer element for heat transfer fluid flow therethrough.

REFRIGERATOR AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A refrigerator and a manufacturing method thereof including processes of separately manufacturing partitions dividing a storage space into a plurality of storage chambers from a main body including an inner casing and an outer casing, coupling the partitions to an inner surface of the inner casing, filling a space between the inner casing and the partitions with an insulator, and filling the partitions with the insulator by filling a space between the inner casing and the outer casing with the insulator. Since the insulator uniformly fills the partitions dividing the storage space into the plurality of storage chambers, the partitions may possess improved insulating qualities.
