Process For Producing Gripping Elements For Sealing and Restraint Systems For Fluid Pipelines and Pipe Joints Produced Thereby
A method is shown for manufacturing a hardened gripping element for a sealing and restraint system used for forming a pipe joint in a fluid pipeline. Instead of machining the gripping elements used in the system from a metal stock, a special series of metal injection molding steps are utilized. A metal polymer composite mix is first formed having a metal particulate phase and a polymer phase. A green metal composite article is formed by either extruding the composite mix or molding the composite mix into a metal polymer composite article having at least one gripping surface having a plurality of gripping teeth. The composite article is subjected to thermal debinding and sintering to produce a finished or near finished hardened gripping element.
Pipe and siphon receptacle apparatus coupling adaptor
An adaptor for coupling pipes together that has a pair of spaced apart pipe members disposed parallel to each other. Each of the pipe members include an opening at a top and at the bottom for receiving an additional pipe. A bridging member connects the pair of pipe members and defines a passage between the pipe members. The bridging member comprises an open top allowing access to the interior of the adaptor.
Fluid handling assembly having a multilayered composite pipe employing a mechanical coupling and method of assembling the fluid handling assembly
A fluid handling assembly includes a first pipe. The first pipe includes an inner layer made of a CPVC composition, an intermediate layer made of a metal at least partially surrounding the inner layer, and an outer layer made of a CPVC composition at least partially surrounding the intermediate layer. A first tubular coupling bushing has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is coupled to the first pipe. The second portion has an engaging portion that is configured to engage to a mechanical fixture that sealingly engages the first pipe and a second pipe. A method of making the fluid handling assembly is also disclosed.
Water conservation based on toilet seat position
Various embodiments for conserving fluid based on the position of a toilet seat are presented. One example embodiment includes a toilet flushing system having a fluid regulation component and a position detector. The fluid regulation component is configured to regulate an amount of fluid used to flush a toilet during a flush cycle. The position detector is configured to detect whether the toilet seat is in a raised position or a lowered position. The position detector is coupled to the fluid regulation component to communicate whether the toilet seat is in the raised position or the lowered position. The fluid regulation component is further configured to regulate the amount of fluid used during the flush cycle based at least in part on whether the toilet seat is in the raised position or the lowered position.
INSULATION FOR A STEAM CARRYING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF ATTACHMENT THEREOF
A steam dispersion system including insulation is disclosed. The steam dispersion system may include a steam dispersion tube with at least one opening defined on an outer surface of the steam dispersion tube and a hollow interior. The insulation covers at least a portion of the steam dispersion tube, the insulation defining an opening aligned with the opening of the steam dispersion tube, wherein the insulation meets 25/50 flame/smoke indexes for UL723/ASTM E-84 and has a thermal conductivity less than about 0.35 Watts/m-K (2.4 in-hr/ft{circumflex over ( )}2 deg F.). A nozzle defining a throughhole may be placed within the opening of the steam dispersion tube, the throughhole being in fluid communication with the hollow interior of the steam dispersion tube to provide a steam exit.

Termination for Sheathed Tubing with Leak Containment and Detection Provisions
A fitting for an end of a length of corrugated tubing with an outer sheath includes an engagement ring for gripping the tubing adjacent to an endmost corrugation of the tubing to preclude axial displacement of the retainer on the tubing. The fitting also includes an end plug having at least one threaded surface and a hollow cylindrical part sized to admit and engage with the engagement ring. The end fitting also includes a nut having a threaded portion complementary with the threaded surface of the end plug and an inner surface that defines an inner cavity. An annular groove extends from the inner surface. A vent extends through the sidewall and is disposed between the threaded surface and the groove. A gasket is disposed in the annular groove and a portion of the gasket extends into the inner cavity and is configured to sealingly engage the sheath.
Method for installing spray pipe
A method for installing a spray pipe, including an insertion step of inserting a spray pipe from an opening portion, a positioning step of positioning the spray pipe such that an installation surface of a leg portion faces a supporting surface of a supporting portion, a provisional tightening step of provisionally tightening a first fastening portion to couple an attachment flange with the opening portion, an adjusting step of adjusting the height of the installation surface relative to the supporting surface such that an axis along which a pipe portion extends coincides with the horizontal plane, in the provisionally tightened state resulting from the provisional tightening step, a coupling step of coupling the leg portion to the supporting portion by means of a second fastening portion, after the adjusting step, and a final tightening step of performing a final tightening of the first fastening portion after the coupling step.
