Grout Bridge for Filter Underdrain Blocks
A filtration system includes a plurality of underdrain blocks arranged in a side-by-side configuration so as to define a gap therebetween, the gap configured to receive grout. Each underdrain block includes a top wall, a bottom wall, and a plurality of side walls connecting the top wall and the bottom wall. A grout bridge is arranged in the gap between adjacent underdrain blocks so as to form a grout seal between the grout bridge and adjacent side walls of the adjacent underdrain blocks. The adjacent sidewalls each include a rib, each rib defining a slot. The grout bridge is arranged in adjacent slots of the adjacent sidewalls of the adjacent underdrain blocks. A method of arranging a filtration system and a grout bridge are also disclosed.
Fuel tank mounted refueling device
A refueling device that when mounted to a marine fuel tank facilitates refueling and minimizes the propensity for both spit-back and well back while simultaneously allowing a free flowing open pathway through which vapors generated by the refueling event may pass unencumbered.

Press nut designs to minimize stack thickness
The described embodiments relate to embedding a threaded insert into a thin-walled housing. A recess can be formed with a machining tool that forms a recess in a thickened portion of the thin-walled housing. In some embodiments, the recess can be formed along one of the walls of the thin-walled housing in a location having highly a constrained amount of space available. Once the recess is formed a threaded insert can be pressed into the recess. An interference fit can be utilized to lodge the press-nut securely within the recess. Alternatively, a retaining member can be positioned across a front portion of the recess to trap the threaded insert between the retaining member and a rear surface of the recess.
Thread protector drive mechanism
A drive mechanism for installing thread protectors on threaded pipe ends having a servo motor, a housing, a shaft assembly, and a gripper with a plurality of jaws. The shaft assembly has a hollow shaft, rotationally mounted within the housing, and a solid shaft slidably mounted within the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft and solid shaft are coaxial and rotationally coupled. The gripper is mounted on the end of the solid shaft, outside of the housing, and is biased away from the housing. A sensor monitors the relative axial motion between the solid shaft and the hollow shaft.
Methods of forming polarized panes for variable transmission windows
Methods of forming polarized panes for variable transmission windows are disclosed. The polarized panes are formed from transparent substrates that are brushed with a brushing pattern that varies continuously in a select direction over each of one or more periods. A layer of polarizable material such as POLARCOAT material can be deposited on and responds to the brushed surface by forming a polarization pattern that substantially matches the brushing pattern and thus also includes one or more periods.
