Blind rivet setting device
A blind rivet setting device and method of setting a blind rivet. The device includes a housing; a pulling mechanism, arranged in the housing, that includes a chuck housing movable in a pulling direction and clamping jaws movable along a clamping distance in the chuck housing; an electric drive, structured and arranged to act on the chuck housing, that includes a control device; an electric battery structured and arranged as an energy source for the electric drive; and a spring structured and arranged in the chuck housing to apply a force to clamping jaws. For each clamping jaw, the chuck housing includes a guide path with a path base obliquely oriented to the pulling direction, and a back of each clamping jaw is supported against its respective path base over the clamping distance.
Feed assembly for a riveting machine and a method of operation of the same
A feed assembly for a foot-pedal operated riveter and a method of using the same is disclosed. The feed assembly includes a rivet stop that has a tip that separates a lowermost fastener from a second from lowermost fastener when the riveter is in a non-operational position. This rivet stop prevents fasteners from sliding down a raceway on the feed assembly. When the riveter is moved into an operational position, the rivet stop moves out of the way and permits the second from lowermost fastener to slide into position for subsequent installation. The rivet stop thus enables automatic reloading of the riveter during operation.
Bottle crown with opener assembly
A pull tab crown for a bottle or other container provides an opener secured to the top of the crown. The crown has an annular skirt with an annular edge. Score lines extend from the opener assembly to the skirt. One of the score lines is curvilinear and terminates at the annular edge. A second score line has a segment that extends from the opener assembly to an endpoint substantially spaced from the bottom annular edge of the skirt.
Expanding rivet connection and assembly method
Provided is an expanding rivet connection for the connection of at least two components to be joined comprising an expanding rivet, comprising an expanding rivet body, which is shaped so that it can be inserted through openings into the first component to be joined, and a threaded part, which is shaped so that it protrudes, at least in part, after insertion from the first component to be joined, an expanding rivet mandrel, which is constructed so that it can be pushed through an opening in the expanding rivet into the expanding rivet body in order to protrude through the first component to be joined, and a clamping element, which is constructed to be screwed to the threaded part of the expanding rivet in order to connect at least a third component to be joined to the first component to be joined.
Seal structure
A seal structure is a seal structure configured to seal, by using a seal material, between a first opposing surface and a second opposing surface which are opposed to each other. A second part includes an insertion hole which is open on the second opposing surface and into which a fastener is inserted; a chamfered surface including a first end connected to an edge of the second opposing surface, the chamfered surface being inclined relative to the second opposing surface; an end surface including an edge connected to a second end of the chamfered surface, the end surface being inclined relative to the chamfered surface. A space sandwiched between the chamfered surface and the first opposing surface forms a chamfered portion accommodating the seal material protruding from between the first opposing surface and the second opposing surface.
Punch rivet and method for the attachment of individual components to one another of which at least one component is formed by a workpiece of composite material
A punch rivet for fastening individual components to one another of which at least one component is formed by a workpiece, with the punch rivet having a flange of larger diameter, a rivet section of smaller diameter and a ring-like component contact surface at the side of the flange adjacent the rivet section and surrounding the rivet section, with the rivet section having at its free end a ring surface for the piercing of the two workpieces which stands at least substantially perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis of the punch rivet and an inner concave ring surface which forms the transition from the end of the punch rivet into the hollow internal space of the rivet section. Ribs extending parallel to the longitudinal axis are provided at the generally cylindrical outer surface of the rivet section and extend up to the free end face of the rivet section.
Easy-Pull Bottle Cap
Methods for manufacturing a crown for a bottle or other container has a top portion and an annular skirt that descends contiguously from the top portion. An opener assembly and an arrangement of frangible scoring lines on the crown allow for ease of opening the bottle or container. Corrugated embodiments provide material strengthening for a reduced gauge crown.
