Golf club head

An iron-type golf club head is disclosed having a heel portion, a sole portion, a toe portion, a top-line portion, a front portion, a rear portion, and a striking face. A back wall is also disclosed in the rear portion enclosing a portion of the rear portion to create an enclosed cavity. The cavity is defined by at least a rear surface of the striking face, an inner back wall surface, and the sole portion. A plug and a filler material is located within the enclosed cavity. The filler material surrounds the plug and is configured to hold the plug in place. The plug is lighter than the filler material.

SCAFFOLDS HAVING A RADIOPAQUE MARKER AND METHODS FOR ATTACHING A MARKER TO A SCAFFOLD

A scaffold includes a radiopaque marker connected to a strut. The marker is retained within the strut by a head at one or both ends. The marker is attached to the strut by a process that includes forming a rivet from a radiopaque bead and attaching the rivet to the marker including deforming the rivet to enhance resistance to dislodgement during crimping or balloon expansion. The strut has a thickness of about 100 microns.

Golf club heads

Putters include a putter body having a ball striking face member made of a material having a first hardness characteristic. A cavity is defined in the putter body behind the ball striking face member, and plural openings are defined in the ball striking face member extending rearward with respect to the ball striking face member and into the cavity. A polymeric material at least partially fills the openings and the cavity, wherein the polymeric material has a second hardness characteristic that is softer than the first hardness characteristic. The ball striking face member and the polymeric material exposed in at least some of the openings provide a ball striking surface of the putter. The ball striking surface may include grooves or scorelines to affect the launch angle, spin, and/or roll of the ball during a putt. Methods for making such putter devices also are described.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING ADMINISTERING OF MEDICATION BY MEDICATION INJECTION DEVICES
20170316177 · 2017-11-02 ·

A method of tracking injections includes depressing a plunger of a medication injection device, and sending and receiving ultrasonic signals from a plunger head installed within a barrel of the medical injection device. The method also includes measuring a time of flight for the signals to travel through the medication, and determining a position of the plunger head based on the time of flight of the signals. Additionally, a plurality of data samples representative of the position of the plunger are logged, and a distance the plunger head travels is calculated. This is used to calculate the quantity of the medication dispensed based on the distance the plunger head travels. An external device is then used to back-interpolate a time corresponding to each data sample logged in order to determine the time the quantity of medication was dispensed.

Vacuum insulating glass unit with viscous edge seal
09732552 · 2017-08-15 ·

Vacuum insulating glass (VIG) units, edge seals for VIG units and methods for forming the edge seals are provided. The VIG units include an edge seal that includes a viscous material, which serves to restrict the rate at which gas permeates into a vacuum space defined between the glass sheets of the VIG unit. The edge seals are configured to allow the glass sheets to move laterally relative to one another when the glass sheets experience differential thermal strain and further configured such that viscous shear occurs within at least a portion of the viscous material when there is relative lateral movement between the glass sheets.

Method for surface treating a golf club head

A method for surface treating a golf club head, includes: (a) forming a depression unit in the golf club head, the depression unit being indented inwardly from an outer surface of the golf club head, the outer surface being divided into a working area and a non-working area, the depression unit being formed in the working area; (b) filling the depression unit with a shielding material and covering the non-working area with a covering material; and (c) sandblasting the golf club head after step (b) and removing subsequently the shielding material from the depression unit and the covering material from the non-working area so as to form the working area into sandblasted and non-sandblasted regions that differ in gloss intensity.

CORE LOCATING AND STABILIZING PIN POSITIONING TOOL AND METHOD

A tool is provided for positioning a core stabilizing pin into a preassigned hole of a plurality of holes formed in an additively manufactured mold. The tool has a main body, a pin cavity, and a standoff. When the tool is used to insert a core stabilizing pin, of a precise, controlled length, into a preassigned hole, and the core stabilizing pin is inserted until the mold engagement end contacts the outer surface of the mold, the angle of the preassigned hole and thickness of the mold precisely positions the core stabilizing pin to engage and stabilize the core.
