20180010717 · 2018-01-11 ·

A pipe clamp for affixing to a pipe subjected to bending to minimize fatigue for a butt weld in the pipe. The pipe clamp includes an inside clamp segment and an outside clamp segment each having a semi-cylindrical shape, a first end and a second end. An inside surface of the inside clamp segment is substantially smooth for permitting slippage of an outside surface of the pipe with respect to the inside surface of the clamp segment. The outside clamp segment has an inside surface that defines a friction element. The friction element is for gripping an outside surface of the pipe to which the outside clamp segment is affixed. A clamp mechanism is provided for securing the inside clamp segment to the outside clamp segment.

A contribution is made to the assembly of a wind turbine intended to comprise, in a final assembly condition, a tower (2) surmounted by a nacelle (4) cooperating with a rotor (5) receiving a plurality of blades (3a-3c). To this end, a temporary association is made between at least some blades from said plurality of blades and the tower, so that said blades extend substantially in the longitudinal direction of the tower.

Method for producing a jig for tubes having bent sections, and resulting jig
09789591 · 2017-10-17 · ·

The invention relates to a method for producing a jig (M) for the thermal forming and/or inspection of a tube (T) of neutral axis (x) and comprising a bent sections (c1-c3) connected by straight sections (d2-d3). The method consists in producing n individual jigs (M1-M3) each comprising a section of duct (18, 18′) of planar neutral axis (χ) for guiding a tube segment formed by one of the n bent sections of the tube (T) and by a predetermined length of each of the straight sections (d1-d4) extending from said bent section, said predetermined length corresponding to either all or part of the length of the straight section; and assembling the n individual jigs (M1-M3) with the sections of guide duct in the continuation of one another and with a relative orientation of the individual jigs adapted to provide a relative orientation between the n planes defined by the neutral axis (χ) of the n sections of guide duct (18, 18′) that is identical to the relative orientation between the n bending planes (P1, P2, P3) defined by the n bent sections (c1-c3) of the tube (T).

Rotor V-block fixture and method

A mechanism retains an asymmetric work piece in a fixed orientation during a machining process on diversely positioned surfaces falling on multiple work piece axes. The mechanism includes a body having an upper surface forming an elongated V-shaped groove, a planar lower surface spaced from the upper surface, and a through passage extending between the upper and lower surfaces. A fastener includes an elongated shaft which extends within said passage, and has an upper end emerging within the V-shaped groove for engaging the work piece, and a lower end extending below and configured to abut the lower surface to maintain the shaft under tensile loading. A plurality of discrete mechanisms can be commonly mounted on a machining table in a spaced-apart relationship with the V-shaped grooves in axial alignment to support a single super elongated work piece. The fastener can be axially advanced or retarded to vary tensile loading.
