PERSONALIZED PROSTHESIS AND METHODS OF USE
20180008437 · 2018-01-11 · ·

A personalized prosthesis for implantation at a treatment site of a patient includes a self-expanding mesh or membrane having collapsed and expanded configurations. The collapsed configuration is adapted to be delivered to the treatment site, and the expanded configuration engages the personalized prosthesis with the treatment site. The mesh or membrane is personalized to match the treatment site in the expanded configuration, and has an outer surface that substantially matches the treatment site shape and size. The self-expanding mesh or membrane forms a central lumen configured to allow blood or other body fluids to flow therethrough. Methods of manufacturing and delivery of the personalized prosthesis are also disclosed.

Pipe processing tool with pipe deformation members

A pipe processing tool that is configured to deform the end of a pipe so that the circumferential shape of the end of the pipe generally matches the circumferential shape of an adjacent pipe end. Matching the circumferential shapes of the pipe ends is advantageous during a pipe attachment process. The pipe processing tool can include a deformation ring with a plurality of pipe deformation members. Each pipe deformation member faces radially inward and is actuatable in a radial direction toward and away from the center of the deformation ring in order to permit engagement with the pipe. Each pipe deformation member is individually and separately actuatable from the other pipe deformation members so that the circumferential shapes of the pipes can be altered by controlling suitable ones of the pipe deformation members.

Fabrication method of tubular member

A part of a plate member is machined to remove material therefrom so as to obtain an intermediate product having a thickness difference. Then, the intermediate product is bent and both edges thereof are joined to obtain a cylindrical body. Further, a first heat treatment of heating the cylindrical body is performed. Then, through holes penetrating from the outside to the inside of the peripheral wall of the cylindrical body are formed. Pipe parts are joined to the tubular body thus obtained to form a tubular member. This tubular member is subjected to a second heat treatment.

Method for manufacturing a composite tube

Method for manufacturing a composite tube having at least one double-layered portion with an annular outer layer of a first alloy and an annular inner layer of a second alloy provides a base component of the second alloy, having a central through-hole and an externally threaded section, provides an outer component of the first alloy, having an internally threaded section configured to engage with the externally threaded section, forms a tubular work piece by mounting the outer component around the base component such that the internally threaded section is in engagement with the externally threaded section, and hot works the work piece so that a metallic bond is formed between the threaded sections while the mechanical interlock is maintained, and so that the work piece is elongated and its outer diameter is reduced, thus forming a composite tube.
