Universal mate-in cable interface system
An assembly for interfacing an existing harness connector of an installed wiring harness to a test module. The assembly comprises: a harness-specific connector which is connectable to the existing harness connector, a test box connector module connected to the harness-specific connector, for connecting to a test module, and a unique identifier which is readable on the assembly and which is unique to the test box connector module; wherein the unique identifier is used to identify the test box connector module and to determine, from a list of unique mate-in interface IDs and associated connector configurations, which one of the associated connector configurations corresponds to the identifier of the assembly, and within the one of the associated connector configurations corresponding to the unique mate-in interface ID of the mate-in interface, to determine the correspondence between contacts of the test module to contacts of the existing harness connector.
Compensating connector system
A compensating plug connector comprising a plug, a receptacle mating zone, a cable mating zone and an intermediate zone. Each of the zones is such that Near End Cross Talk (NEXT) resulting from transmission of the high frequency signal across each zone is below a specified amount chosen such that NEXT introduced by a high frequency signal transmission between via all the zones is below a level as specified for the cabling category.
Connector-soldering aid
A connector-soldering aid (1) for soldering single and/or cable wires to a connector comprises a connector mount (5) with a first stand (9) and a cable mount (7) with a second stand (31). The connector mount (5) has a base body (17), which is arranged on the first stand (9) and is rotatable relative to the latter about a fixed axis of rotation (19). The connector mount (5) further comprises a replaceable attachment (21) with a connector receiver and a centring device (23) for centring the attachment (21). The centring device (23) is arranged on the base body (17) and is further formed to centre the attachment (21) such that the connector receiver is positioned centrally in relation to the axis of rotation (19) of the base body (17).
UNIVERSAL MATE-IN CABLE INTERFACE SYSTEM
An assembly for interfacing an existing harness connector of an installed wiring harness to a test module. The assembly comprises: a harness-specific connector which is connectable to the existing harness connector, a test box connector module connected to the harness-specific connector, for connecting to a test module, and a unique identifier which is readable on the assembly and which is unique to the test box connector module; wherein the unique identifier is used to identify the test box connector module and to determine a configuration that corresponds to the identifier of the assembly, and to determine the correspondence between contacts of the test module to contacts of the existing harness connector.
Apparatus to determine quality of termination of wire using thermal characteristics
A wire terminating apparatus and method which allows for determining the quality of a wire termination. The method includes terminating the wire, monitoring the thermal properties of the termination with one or more thermal sensors and comparing the monitored thermal properties to stored thermal properties to determine if the termination is defective. If the termination is defective, the termination is discarded. The apparatus includes a wire termination zone. A thermal sensor is mounted on the wire terminating apparatus proximate the wire termination zone. The thermal sensor monitors the thermal properties of the termination to determine if the termination is defective.
Compensating connector system
A compensating receptacle connector and for terminating a cable assembly of a cabling category and comprising a plug mating zone, a cable mating zone and an intermediate zone. Each of the zones is such that Near End Cross Talk (NEXT) resulting from transmission of the high frequency signal across each zone is below a specified amount chosen such that NEXT introduced by a high frequency signal transmission between via all the zones is below a level as specified for the cabling category.
COMPENSATING CONNECTOR SYSTEM
An apparatus for maintaining cross-talk below a predetermined threshold is disclosed. The apparatus comprises cable mating zone for connecting each of a first set of contact pairs with a respective twisted pair of cable conductors, a device mating zone for connecting each of a second set of contact pairs with a respective pair of device contacts and an intermediate transmission zone for connecting each of the first set of contact pairs with a respective one of the second set of contact pairs. In each of the zones the cross talk noise is prevented from exceeding a predetermined cross talk noise threshold.
MODULE INSTALLATION ALIGNMENT DEVICE
A module installation assembly for installing a module into a socket of a land grid array includes a tool having a mounting bracket for connecting the tool to an adjacent fixture, an alignment member connected to the mounting bracket, and cavity defined at least partially by the alignment member. The cavity is substantially aligned with a socket of the land grid array such that the module is configured to pass through the cavity when being connected to the socket.
Connector installation tool
A connector installation tool can include an inner surface having a first portion having a first perimeter, where the inner surface forms a cavity that traverses a first length of the inner surface. The connector installation tool can also include an opening having a width and traversing a second length of the outer surface and the first length of the inner surface. The connector installation tool can further include a front face located adjacent to and substantially perpendicular to the first portion of the inner surface. The connector installation tool can also include a rear face located adjacent to a distal end of the inner surface, where the rear face is substantially parallel to the front face.
Compensating connector system
A connector and assembly of a cabling category and comprising two mating zones connected by an intermediate zone. Each of the zones is manufactured such that Near End Cross Talk (NEXT) resulting from transmission of the high frequency signal across each zone is below a specified amount chosen such that NEXT introduced by a high frequency signal transmission between via all the zones is below a level as specified for the cabling category.
