SPIKE PULLER AND METHOD FOR PULLING A RAILROAD SPIKE OF A TRACK
A spike puller for pulling a railroad spike of a track includes a housing, a linear displacement unit mounted at the housing, and a claw unit for gripping the railroad spike. The claw unit is displaceable in a linear manner relative to the housing in a displacement direction by using the linear displacement unit. The linear displacement unit includes a hollow tube which is guided in the housing. A method for pulling a railroad spike of a track is also provided.
Filtration assembly comprising a filter and a filter support and associated method for the collection and analysis of nanoparticles
A filtration assembly for filtering nanoparticles includes a filter having pores that can retain nanoparticles likely to be found in an air flow passing through the filter and a filter support including two parts. A lower base-forming part of the filter support includes a peripheral bearing surface on which the filter can rest. An upper ring-shaped part of the filter support is designed to be mounted around the bearing surface of the base. By mounting the ring around the bearing surface of the base it is possible to tension the filter radially to the direction of mounting. The mounting clearance between the ring and the bearing surface of the base is dimensioned such as to maintain the filter resting on the bearing surface under mechanical stress by means of pinching, in a direction radial to the mounting direction.
Tube fitting assembly
A tube fitting for sealing an end of a tube uses a notch formed in the exterior surface of the tube as a sealing seat. An internally threaded body is configured to receive an externally threaded end of a nut, while the body and the nut are mounted in a surrounding relationship to the tube end. A ferrule mounted between the nut and the tube is forced to plastically deform and move into the notch to thereby seal the tube end.
Insert press and related method
An insert press that has a threaded shaft with a distal end is disclosed. An insert driver is disposed at the distal end of the threaded shaft. The insert press also includes a press housing that provides a bore through which the threaded shaft extends. The bore is transformable from a first condition in which the threaded shaft is threadably translatable in the bore to a second condition in which the threaded shaft is non-threadably translatable in the bore.
Fluid filter installation tool
An installation tool for one or more components of a fluid filter includes a first body portion configured to engage a filter socket to advance the tool and filter components into the socket, and a second body portion configured to apply a direct force to one or more filter components. The first and second body portions can rotationally move relative to each other, such that the filter components may not grind against the socket or other filter components, which can, among other things, reduce or eliminate the creation of foreign object debris and/or minimize the amount of human force required to install the filter components.
DEVICE FOR INSTALLING AND REMOVING A COMPONENT ON A GAS TURBINE
The invention relates to a device for installing and removing a component on a gas turbine, having a rail system on which in particular a rotor can be displaced along a predetermined displacement axis, and having a terminal positioning part which is fixedly connected to the rail system. The positioning part has at least one guide portion which is designed to co-operate mechanically with a respective counterpart guide portion on the housing of the gas turbine, in order to achieve a suitable orientation of the device with respect to the housing of the gas turbine. The positioning part also has at least one connecting section which is designed in each case to form a fixed but releasable connection to a respective counterpart connecting section on the housing of the gas turbine construct.
Puller Tool and Adapter
A puller tool comprises a cross bar with a central portion having a through hole defining a first axis; a forcing screw configured to extend through the through hole; and an adapter detachably attached to the cross bar and having a threaded hole defining a second axis for the forcing screw, and wherein the first axis and second axis are substantially aligned. The adapter comprises a threaded hole configured to receive the forcing screw and defining a second axis, wherein the first axis and second axis are substantially aligned; a base portion containing the threaded hole and arrangeable adjacent a first axial side of the cross bar; at least a first wall portion extending away from the base portion and arrangeable adjacent to a first lateral side of the central portion of the cross bar, and wherein the adapter is detachably attachable to the cross bar.

An electric drive unit electrically operates the linear displacement unit. A method for pulling a railroad spike of a track is also provided.
