An adapter configured to convert a rotary motion of a drive shaft for a door lock actuating mechanism into a translational motion for actuating a door latch. The adapter includes a housing with a compartment and a first lever inside the compartment, enables retrofitting of US-style doors with a European style door handle by providing a first bearing that rotatably supports the first lever relative to the housing, wherein the first bearing has a first axis of rotation, wherein the housing has a channel, the channel has a first opening facing the lever and a second opening facing away from the lever, wherein a first channel axis extends through the centers of the first and second openings. The first lever has a hole, configured for receiving the drive shaft, wherein the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft correlates with the first axis of rotation. The first lever further has first coupling means for providing a torque proof coupling with the drive shaft. A second bearing pivotably attaches the lever to a connecting rod, where-in the second bearing has a second axis of rotation, wherein the connecting rod has a first connecting element at the end of the connecting rod opposite to the lever. The first connecting element is moveably supported inside the first channel, wherein the channel walls limit a translation of the first connecting element in directions perpendicular to the first channel axis and enable a translation along the first channel axis.

An electronic door lock is operable to control access to an access controlled area adjacent the inner side of a door. The door lock includes an outer base, an inner base, a locking mechanism movable between a locked and unlocked position in response to a control signal, and a control circuit disposed within the inner base and operable to generate the control signal in response to the presentation of an input credential. A plurality of different types of credential readers are each selectively attachable and removable from an attachment interface when the outer base is attached to the door to electrically connect the selected one of the plurality of different types of credential readers to the control circuit. The selected credential reader receives data from a user or credential and generates the input credential. A communication module is operable to communicate with a device separate from the electronic door lock.

A rose assembly for a door lock and a method of removably securing the rose assembly to a lock chassis. The rose assembly is secured to the lock chassis through the use of an intermediate spring steel attaching plate, which provides both a secure attachment to the lock and orientation of the rose assembly to the lock housing. A single spring plate with integrated retention clip features provides a removably attachable interface between the rose and the lock chassis. The spring plate includes a hook feature to provide positive retention of the rose that is independent of the spring clip features. Additionally, the spring clips are located to minimize the possibility that one clip deflects substantially more than another. The installation process includes inserting the hook feature into a slot in the chassis housing, and then snapping the clip features over the housing to seat and retain the rose.

An image mounting plate is provided. The image mounting plate may be installed between a handle and an object supporting the handle, whereby an image on a front-facing surface of the image mounting plate is visible after installation. The image mounting plate has a void for accommodating portions of the handle that engage the object by way of a bore hole in the object. The image mounting plate has at least one elongated slot tangentially or semi-tangentially associated with its void. The present invention includes a placement guide for each elongated slot, wherein a head portion of the placement guide operatively associates with the elongated slot and a blade portion of the placement guide operatively associates with the bore hole of the object.

A door latch system (1) comprises a latch (10) and rose bases (60A,B) which clamp together against a door panel through a cross-drilling in the door panel by screws 80 engaging in bosses (94) above and below the latch body (12). The latch body is supported in the cross drilling by an adaptor (40) which in turn supports sleeve extensions (90) of the rose bases to prevent the rose bases from turning on operation of the handle knob/levers attached to the rose bases. The sleeve extensions are open, (that is, C-shaped in section) so that the diameter of the parts of the system within the cross drilling can be minimised, whereby the diameter of the rose bases can likewise be kept within desirable limits of size.
