JOINT DEVICE AND GUIDE ARRANGEMENT
A joint device rotatably connecting a functional component to a fixing structure includes a bearing shell having a first guide body with a curved first guide face, and a second guide body with a second guide face. The bearing shell connects to either the functional component or the fixing structure. An inner body having a connection portion and a guide portion is arranged between the first and second guide faces. The connection portion connects to the other of the functional component or the fixing structure. The guide portion is movably guided on the first and second guide faces about a first rotational axis defined by the curved first guide face. The connection portion or the bearing shell connects to the fixing structure by a pin. A second rotational axis extending transversely to the first rotational axis is defined by a pin central axis and/or the first guide face curvature.
Insert for a ball joint in a motor vehicle, ball joint or link having an insert of this type, and method for producing an insert of this type, a ball joint of this type or a link of this type
An insert for a ball joint (19) in a motor vehicle. The insert having a first part-structure (6) for making at least partial slide-bearing contact with a joint ball (2). The first part-structure (6) can be connected, by over-molding, to a joint socket (17) and/or to a joint housing (18). The insert (1) can be positioned and/or handled to cover a pole surface, to increase the extraction force, the insert (1) has an open part-structure (20) such that a cage-like configuration can be produced for surrounding the joint ball (2).
Ball joint holder with limiting element
A ball joint holder with limiting element includes a lower base, an upper base covered to the lower base, a ball shaft and a limiting element. The ball shaft has a rotation rod, and a ball body located around a lower end of the rotation rod. A lower end of the rotation rod protrudes outward to form a limiting block. Two opposite ends of the limiting element are pivotally connected with the lower base and the upper base. The limiting element opens a limiting groove. One of inner surfaces of a front wall and a rear wall of the limiting groove is defined as a limiting surface. The lower end of the rotation rod and the limiting block are received in the limiting groove. The limiting block is capable of abutting against the limiting surface.
Serviceable joint with removable race
A serviceable joint features a pin, a housing with a hollow interior, and a removable race. The race has hollow interior chambers, an upper one of which is larger than the lower. The bottom end of the pin is passable through the hollow interior chambers and onward through an open lower end of the housing to situate the top end of the joint pin within the upper chamber of the race, from which a remainder of the pin hangs in free floating state. A retaining ring is engaged in an annular groove in the peripheral wall of the housing to clamp the race in place in a seated position abutting a tapered exterior area of the race against a tapered interior portion of the housing, whereby the race is centered and stabilized in the housing to restrain the head of the free-floating pin.
Bush assembly
A bush assembly for use with jointed members in a motor vehicle, the bush assembly comprising: an outer housing; an inner member including a semi-spherical portion; and a bushing comprising a plurality of segments of resilient material disposed between the outer housing and the inner member, and defining a semi-spherical cavity for receiving the semi-spherical portion; the outer housing comprising a first housing section having a first engagement formation, and a second housing section having a second engagement formation, wherein said first and second engagement formations are adapted to be inter-engaged to secure said housing sections and retain the bushing and at least the semi-spherical portion of the inner member within the outer housing. A method for producing the bush assembly involving the pre-loading of the bushing, desirably composed of polyurethane, is also disclosed.
Adjustable ball joint for an inner tie rod assembly, adjustable ball joint kit, and method of assembling an adjustable ball joint
An adjustable ball joint which is infinitesimally adjustable using a jam nut wherein no set screws are used. A kit for constructing an adjustable ball joint which is infinitesimally adjustable using a jam nut wherein no set screws are used. A method of assembling an adjustable ball joint which is infinitesimally adjustable using a jam nut wherein no set screws are used.
